I know I will buy the next game no matter what because there are no other games like BF. But here are some things I want to see at release to be happy:
1: Dense and polished maps with micro destruction. Since we're going back to 64p maps, I want to see more urban maps - Karkand, Seine Crossing, Dawnbreaker and similar. No more open wide maps. Maybe a couple for vehicle-only enjoyers. Just avoid "sausage" type maps such as Metro or Flashpoint.
2: Better UI. Less flashy, less "in your face". No more PrEsS X T0 UsE fLaReS To EvAdE a MiSsIlE, please. We're not children and we don't need you to hold our hands.
3: Naval Warfare. Just as simple as BF4 Attack B0aT to add extra flare to some maps. Nothing too crazy is needed.
4: More realistic vehicle UI and weapons customization. BF2042 vehicles were too cartoony in terms of UI and too badly customized. Granted, they did improve a lot on the customization front, but it still needs work. Not to trigger some people, but look at recent war footage from Ukraine. The are many clips from inside tanks and other vehicles that provide a nice view of UI of an actual war vehicle. As for customization, the answer for your future game is in the past. Look at BF3/4/1. Canister shells, laser-guided rockets, and tons of different ammo types for MBTs and IFVs. Make different seats synergize rather than giving everyone a random thing to use on their own.
5: Less non-player controlled items/gadgets and other gizmos. Robo dogs, flying angry grenades, automatic turrets, whatever has the word "Smart" in it. The game must feel analog. More player input = better. Even things like AGM missiles should be physically guided by whoever launched it OR another player with a laser on the ground.
For people waiting for a server browser or another portal miracle, you can simply forget it. The server browser won't come because we now have SBMM and it cannot coexist with a server browser. Portal won't work again because of rules and restrictions because the community itself cannot use it properly. Portal IMO is a waste of time.
