Record low player count

So looking at Steamcharts, which is the best representation we have of overall player count, in the last 24 hours the game has reached an all time low, not even reaching 3000 concurrent players.

To put that into perspective, the current player numbers of writing this arent even top 200 games currently played on Steam.

It has now been a month since Update# 0.3.2 and we still have ANOTHER month to wait for Update # 0.3.3

Many of the reports from the Official Bug Report forum, are not in the EA DICE list of Known Issues and the game remains a broken mess of meta spamming (PKPBorisRangerBolteField) and poor game play experience.

Meanwhile, the pre-registration has launched for the tech test for Battlefield Mobile, created by Industrial Toys in collaboration with the team working on Battlefield 2042. Which already from the screenshots on the Play Store looks more like a game play experience that Battlefield players wanted.

People can keep playing devils advocate for DICE, and blaming consumers for pre-ordering the game, but the fact is that despite the announcements made, DICE continue to fail us further, taking to long to fix the current state of the game. This decision for Bi-monthly updates has absolutely killed the remaining player base holding on, since the last update the game has dropped another 60% of players.

Where is the Urgency?

@Pekmez-Pita at least you get games starting, i spent 2 hours yesterday afternoon queued trying to get a game, i gave up like most days for the past month. In other BFs I would use the server browser to play on US West Coast or Singapore

The general low player count is a BF2042 issue, that has nothing to do with the Valentines Day, but to point out a day, that always shows a drop in player numbers doesn't make this a strong argument.

Removing Team Death Match every two weeks is awkward for a first person shooter game that needs more player engagement.  TDM has smaller 16x16 matches that fill more easily 24/7 and it also has three times more maps than the 128/64 player modes which helps keep it fresh.

So what is the point in removing a mode that can fill with actual human gamers and has an acceptable number of maps in rotation?

@kregora I made this thread at 11:33PM GMT 15/02; it was Tuesday, and Wednesday in half the world including where I am.

You have to look at the trend, and the trend is the same for all players worldwide.

  • Well it's Friday night here in Australia and I dunno, maybe 60-70% of the game I just played was AI

    Bit of a bummer..
