Should I buy or wait?

Hi

I have a feeling I know the answer, but as there has been a lot of threads and videos out there about the state of the game, is it worth me waiting til say, next year?

I've been playing Battlefield since BF2 days, so have all of them, including the migrain inducing 2142 with that EMP.

I still play BF3/4 every week, and was looking forward to this new game, but from what I can gather, it ain't great.

It would probbaly be just the base game, as I couldn't give two hoots about some snazzy cammo for a specialist. Also, why can't they just solve that issue with an easy thing: keep them in as they don't want to remove them, but create the 4 classes, and assign them to each class based on the gadget?

In BF3/4 etc, you can have a recon running around with a carbine, but that class is the only one with a beacon, tug, mav etc. Could do the same here, and all those players leaving, may just come back.

Anyhoo, that's my two pence worth 🙂

    @kronenbourg73 there are currently 2 questions you will have to answer for yourself.
    1. what platform do you run, if it is PC can your system handle this game with its current "optimization"
    2. can you look past all the missing features and work in progress stuff in the game
    If either is answered with no i would hold out

    @kronenbourg73 People are saying this and that but if you will not enter the game with expectations that it is spiritual successor, you might have a lot of fun.

    It has a lot of bugs but I enjoy it a lot. And I have pretty mediocre PC and run the game on high w/o issues.

    It's all about expectations.

    @kronenbourg73My suggestion is, don't pay to do the QA jobs for this game, they should pay people for the QA. Maybe this game will be good after some years like BFV, maybe it'll never be until abandoned (like Anthem). It'll be much better to buy when it is actually a product. EA is no independent developer and this game is not a kickstarter thing. Players deserve much more than "pay and wait".

    If I didnt already buy it (which I regret) I would wait.

    Ive always supported BF and could always see past the main complaints to see what was so great about it. I hated V at first and its really still not my thing but its still Battlefield. This 2042 isnt the same. Its just bland chaos with nothing great but on top of that they removed what I feel is Battlefield's soul. 

    2042 has the potential but potential is nothing without proper execution of assets.

    EDIT: Maybe assets isnt the best word to use but you get what Im saying...

    @X-Sunslayer-XWould have helped if I mentioned that :D Its a PC, and looked and I meet the Recommended specs for all, just about. My graphics card isn't an RTX one, as I don't really care if a blade of grass is fluttering in the wind, as I just trample over it 😉

    As for the second, that's is a toughie. Being used to playing BF for many years, we kinda get stuck in a rut. But then its changed a lot since BF2 days: (we had 5 classes back then), different modes, hardcore and normal (vanilla), attachments, etc.

    I think I could look past some of them, just will be a culture shock in parts. Hopefully they'll get the stats pages or something, as I like to check how I'm doing 🙂

    Thanks to all the replies, was typing but the dog wanted out so by the time I came back and posted, you all replied 🙂

    I think I may wait. Sure, I would loe to play it, but as its in a 50/50 state at the moment, a few patches etc more may help. I remember BF4 on release, that was awful.

    So, I'll go with the old gut (and your replies) and wait until a later date. I'll carry on with 3/4 🙂

    @kronenbourg73 If you like bf3/4 , 2042 is nothing like it. Feels more like a grand COD game. If you don't mind something else , sure why not. Its at best meh. IMO. This is looking past the bugs.

    Wait, and hope they gonna fix this game.

    For now it's not worth your money.
