Sniper Nerf?

Was there a sniper nerf that I missed. Today, I am shooting people point blank with the DXR-1 (power of 95) in the chest and they proceed to punch me to death. Also, at range, I am hitting people 3 consecutive times with no kills, four hits from a sniper to kill?

The recent patch did jack crap to fix any issues. Still full auto snipers at 400 yards, still: wall hack heaven,  spawn, dead by (insert some vehicle name here), lather rinse repeat.

I paid 90 dollars for this? What a crock.

  • @Killahorde Snipers are so under power and bullet drop is insane! Snipers are very high power long range guns but not in this game.
    The better the scope(more zoom) you use the higher you have to shoot if you want to hit the target. It is ridicilous how better scope will increase you bullet drop insanely
  • Agreed with @aksur83 here, also the bullet spread is horrendous across most weapons, even on the sniper rifles which are supposed to be high precision weapons out on longer ranges...

    Think though often we are simply just not getting the kills because also the hit registration is totally messed up today in the game.

    And it was not fixed in latest update either. 

    We have obviously a very very serious problem on the netcode and the servers to support proper and reliable BF2042 gameplay:

  • snipers need to be banned in this game. they shouldnt be easy to play.

    Snipers are good the way they are. Blame the map design for being all this open empty terrain that makes it a perfect environment for snipers to have an advantage over the other weapon classes.

  • Snipers are a class on their own, with their own challenges, no need to ban them or nerf them but a challenging balance would indeed be great because they are not regular rifles and should have their own gameplay.

    Bullet drop is a challenge that snipers enjoy. Guessing the distance of an enemy, compensating for it and seing after 2-3 seconds of travel time a head blow right on the edge a wall cover is fun. Same apply when you see someone running in straight line, forcing you to guess travel time AND drop. Getting a headshot on a moving target is a great feeling from far distance. Going in a sniper vs sniper last man standing is fun, because it becomes a true skill fight. One will guess better, the other will learn how to dodge the hard way.

    Where the class needs to be nerfed is on reload speed, scope zoom speed, hip shots and why not some wind effect when the tornados come. Make it hard to land a shot so no one uses snipers as shotgun. Seing a sniper taking a point while shooting at target 20 meters ahead feels wrong, there's already Medics. Assault and Engineer for that (if we consider the old classes).

    Keep the power of the sniper high so they can hurt real bad (infantry and vehicles) but make it hard to hit. That's where snipers get their adrenaline from. If I was 100% certain of landing every shot I take, that wouldn't be fun. So a good balance to me is to make my life difficult, each shot critical but damage rewarding.
