- Adamonic3 years agoLegend@RUMPLE9 the game has really devolved lately. I have to keep asking if the players are new or if they know what the objective of the mode is. I get some wise a55 remarks back from a few, but they are serious questions.
People camping as attackers on BT. Sitting in the spawn with tanks, Wildcats and sniper rifles the entire round (we never get passed the first sector).
If you have 10 players actually playing the game right, you would be unstoppable, because that is all you need to cap or defend any point, because there will never be 10 opponents capping or defending a point.
I really feel like BF2042 is catering to younger players and newer players. It is more about gimmicks and gadgets and less about strategy. Respawns are so fast that it doesn't matter if you die, you can be back in a few seconds.
That is also why they leave weapons, vehicles, and aircraft OP for so long. The Bolte was insane for a long time. K30 or BSV anyone? The Hind, and now the Stealth helos? Those all cater to bad players so they feel better about themselves because it is so easy to get kills with them. - ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@Adamonic I think it’s called desperation. Having said that PTFO is a thing for a reason, and that reason being the majority of players are lone wolfs, playing with themselves. Gaming has been moving in that direction for a while, with BR and hero shooters being the norm rather than the exception. I can see a day where it’s not profitable to make COD or BF as we know it. Clans are dead or dying, online communities have moved on. It’s pretty sad really.

@RUMPLE9They should not limit the amount of snipers available, rather they should have made the maps smaller and with more cover from the start, which actually works.
If you have tried the new kaleidoscope rework on breakthrough, with the new layout, then you can see snipers have become a more rare issue, than it was before. - Mackstan713 years agoSeasoned Ace
Maybe i'm wrong, but isn't the state of this game make more people go sniper? I know when i shoot rubber bullets and stuff due the hitreg/desync/ttd/ttk/broken game/ bla bla bla and know that going assault in a sort of close combat is pointless, i tried to go sniper and hope to have a few kills....altho most of my sniper bullets were made from rubber also. Long time sniping is boring, and just go and attack give me more kick in game, but i believe that this unfinished game drive gamers more to sniping. Again, i might be wrong.
- kregora3 years agoSeasoned Ace@RUMPLE9 It is not the fault of the sniper rifle, it is an issue with the maps. All BF2042 maps encourage long range engagements and vehicles. With most of the maps there is actual no tactical advantage to deploy infantry, its just because the game says so.

Sometimes, if I’m really really lazy i’llnplonk my * down and snipe for a distance. And I feel bad about it. But I’m too tired.
normally though I use the sniper (on bf4) as a beacon spawn for the team. And place it near the flag objective and then run and cap the flag, I can’t shoot for hell, so I’m always playing a support role. And on bf4 I get rewarded for this play style (with my 0.7kd) by still being pretty close to top of the leader board. Which is nice, especially when I I have 2-14k/d and place nee t to someone with say 20-9 kD.
in bf2042, I find that the leaderboard is still very much orientated to k/d being most important thing ever. So I’m totally deinsentivised to play.

So I just played a game of Rush. Soon as you spawn you can see a whole line in a row of glinting sniper scopes. I don't know if it is a clan doing this or something but it has to be stopped.
As for the game being ruined I have said before maybe people should only get minimal points for kills, and most points should be awarded for PTFO actions and secondarily support actions. Kills should come last, because most kids these days only care about their k/d ratio and it will get worse when DICE introduce stat monitoring in season 2
- GRiPSViGiL3 years agoSeasoned Ace@RUMPLE9 Sniper have always determined which side wins. The side with the least snipers usually wins. I mean if players want to be worthless to their team they snipe because they aren't PTFO.
I love when the enemy team is just sniping. Easy win.

it's always been a point of contention. "snipers" are useless but they paid for the game too so it's hard for me to tell them they can't play the way they want. it's too boring for me though i can't do the long range thing unless i'm trolling snipers with an M5 rocket or lis. always fun to zap someone from 500m with an M5 rocket when they keep missing you (hold on bottom crosshair of reticle for that range)
I'm curious if you're not worried about your K/D and are just focused on the PTFO aspect and winning the match then why do you care if the other team has a bunch of snipers?
It's been my experience most "snipers" are actually pretty much useless and spend most of the round so far away from the action camping on their own ammo boxes that they really have no impact on the round. Not to mention most of them burn through 10-20 shots for every 1 kill they get, lol.
It's been a "thing" in Battlefield titles going all the way back to BF1942 that the side with the most snipers usually lose, so I don't really even pay them much mind unless they're on my side and we're getting rolled because of it.
If they wanna play bush-wookie out on the far edges of the map so be it. It's relatively easy to avoid they're sniper fire because like I said most of 'em couldn't hit the broad side of a barn anyway.
