Using a sniper in 2042 is super easy and makes the game a complete sniper fest with rooftop campers. Dxr - 1 shoots straight every time has WAY TOO high of muzzle velocity and NO BULLET drop. Plus scope glint is like a giant spotlight that's the only small downside when using anything 4X and above for sights. Sniping has been a skill set and useful tool when employed correctly in past games. It was challenging, took skill, and was realistic. Sniping seriously needs an overhaul in this game imo
Sniper rifles making a whole ballistic arc and doing negligible damage unless the target is shot at the head or is already very injured is not "realistic" in any meaning of the word.
Every BF game has been a sniper fest with rooftop campers.
This is a segment of a WoWarcraft podcast from 2005 that makes a reference to BF2 and BF1942 . including a skit of what Arathi Basin would be if people played it like BF2.
Unlike what people might say, players wasting vehicles and too many playing sniper were as old as the series.
Everyone is annoyed by snipers and that was always the same in BF games.
In a game where people are usually on a perpetual motion, even the idea of nailing people on the head feels more like a gambling roulette than an expression of skill. So complaining about asking for exaggerated bullet drop feel weird to me.
Sniping can almost never be a useful tool when people can come back to life in 12 seconds. IRL a sniper is scary because you cannot see it where it comes from and you know that if you get hit you are likely to be permanently crippled or killed for good. Not this 12 second respawn with a glowing spotlight declaring the point of origin
