@sk1lldThat’s sweet. PC needs to do the same thing to prevents its use, as well as EA Anti-Cheat needs to be further developed. Some kind of policy statement from EA and Dice would be welcomed.@ATFGunrI'm not tracking here, PC users don't use Cronus as MKB (the reason to use cronus on console) is our main input method. I've read that recently the exploit to have aim assist with MKB by having a controller simultaneously connected was also fixed so there should be nothing to prevent for PC.
ATFGunr was just celebrating the fact that a cheating method got nerfed on console.
And because we have crossplay in this game, he will encounter less cheaters as a PC player. Good for everyone.

Don't speak for me, you don’t know me. I celebrate anytime cheating is reduced or eliminated for all. I’d be dancing if EA Anticheat was better. I mostly play with crossplay off against other PC players due to the horrible network issues, desync, etc. If consoles can cheat or not doesn’t affect me playing 2042. I don’t know what angle you’re working but I don’t need anyone to speak for me.

I am a simple man. I gave you credit. Maybe my wording was wrong.

I knew something was odd when I played against other PS5 players. This is disturbing, I knew it I would light someone up in the back and they would turn around so fast and kill me.
EA did ban 30k cheats on fifa back in 2021. I'm sure they have it in them to ban people. I find on the BF series that they just give too many warnings.
I'm glad this device finally got banned, and hopefully, this is just the beginning of a long list of bans coming. It would be so cool if cheaters names got released.
I think Sony is just far behind on updating their system to combat cheating. They should catch up soon.
Some of those streamers aren't as good anymore, kinda odd...lol

I don't get it: how is it easier to catch a cheater in 'FIFA' than in 'BF'...?...!
How is it possible to even cheat in an online footbal match?!... I mean, where's the low recoil, wallhack/ESP equivalents, etc...? It truly boggles the mind how far illegitimate gaming can go.

I don’t believe that the main reason devices like these are so popular is because so many people want to play MnK on console.
It’s a bit like in the past when people said they bought Playboy magazine just for reading the articles. 😏I welcome the ban of these! One of the main reasons for me to go from PC to console at the time was the leveled playing field. A closed ecosystem giving hackers no chance, and everybody using mostly the same hardware. Unfortunately this has changed with the arrival of 3rd party and elite controllers, and it has gotten out of hand with cheating devices like Cronus. So if we can revert that a bit temporarily, hoorah!
As said before I’ve got no illusion that we got rid of it completely. The company selling these things will work to get their product working again.
- ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@RanzigeRidder2 The Playboy reference is terrific 🤣. Realistically Dice should add legit M&K to 2042 for those console players that want to play that way.
@JOGAGATYA, your wording made it seem like I was glad that consoles were being restricted and PC was not, which is not my intent at all. I appreciate that may not have been what you meant, I want to stress that cheating of any kind, by any system, is not acceptable. We are all gamers who just want to play and none of us deserve to get railed by cheaters whether on PC or console.- RanzigeRidder22 years agoLegend

Indeed Dice should add proper MnK support for their game too. Then there will be no more need for Cronus and the likes, but I doubt that many of its users will give up on it.

They may get it working again eventually, but by that time there will be another update to block it. Anything and everything that is added to a console can and will be detectable there is no work around. The only reason why Sony did not block it sooner was, because they don't deem it a priority to stop it immediately.
Altering (or even accessing) the firmware is illegal. So, we will always know what is plugged in your console.- ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@D-Man3847The same applies to PC, the real question is where is Microsoft in all this? A PC knows what is installed or plugged in. I think Microsoft could probably reduce if not outright eliminate all hacking. Using hacks should cost you your Windows licence. I’m sure the main factor is Microsoft doesn’t want the hassle, but in these days of coding and AI you can’t tell me they could stop your computer from using hack software or hardware if they chose to, and do it at the OS level.
