Squad or Proximity team chat?
Just wondering will BF2042 support some sort audio chat with squad players that are close by to players should be away from on'es own squad and relies on medic assistance or ammo or make them aware of enemy sighting.

very rare i have found, unless your playing with mates, that squads talk to each other, especially if your in a random squad with people you dont know
- @GeneralGrievous7 true but i found playing games at launch players are willing to play fair or atleast be part of the team i understand 1 year players mute voice comms for alot of the time but still think the feature should be there for players who feel the option of support of the true BF players work together than the lone wolves of COD

- @Neovisi0n I like the sound of that imagine 2 different squads in jets in comms in conversation across the skies of the battlefield. Tanks comms and only squad leaders are are able convey speech to them to attack objective or targets on ground
Since its a 64 players team maybe a VOIP system like all squad leaders can communicate with each other and then each squad leader can communicate with his squad... it sounds good right?? it will 100% improve the team work game play.
Personally, I am either playing with friends using Discord, or if I am lone wolf and playing without friends, I just go for it as best I can without comms. I found you can want to use mic in proximity or squad, but if you are with people who do not speak your language, you are a bit stuffed! I think your suggestion of proximity or squad in-game comms is good but may not come to much. I remember the Halo 3 days, it was great! but you soon had a lot of foul language and then people playing music and being generally rude and annoying.
Private chat is the way forward, public chat can't be policed. Unless I am missing something... Thoughts anybody?
- @IICookieGII Similar for me. I purposely don't wear my headset in-game unless I'm playing with friends. No problems with proximity chat, in fact I could see it being a good feature for those who'd like to utilise it, but it's just not for me.
It’s 2021 and by now a lot of people can relate to the level of fun and immersion that proximity chat adds to multiplayer games, specifically open/large world shooters. Why hasn’t Battlefield made it a priority to add proximity based voip? Even if it was limited to hardcore mode. The amount of potential it and engagement it would add for coordinating with your team would be huge. Especially in vehicles.
let’s not forget proximity chat against enemy’s. This is just plain fun. Being able to talk trash as the enemy has you pinned down, or maybe even faking them out could be used to a tactical advantage. There’s lots of possibilities and advantages to having a proximity based chat system.
I don't know why Dice Sweden has never bothered developing their voice chat system. It often feels like they don't care about communication and teamwork. Battlefield 3 never had any voice chat on PC and it was only after considerable pestering that Battlefield 4 onwards had squad chat but they've never bothered developing it beyond that. Would be nice if they get with the times and offer proper voice chat in 2042 but given their track record I am somewhat dubious.
