When i get hacked, (which btw sometimes happens without warning/instantly), i flare and fly away to cover. Wouldn't make sense if i'd stay right? But, there have been situations when i get locked by stinger, i still get sometimes hit probably cause i'm hoovering (shooting) still on same spot/location. I've even witnessed when i was flying away i still get hit after flares deployed (happens rarely) and i think it has to do with crafts position.
But to the OP. You have to understand, you are not the only lockon person on field, for pilot it's constant lockon music in cockpit.

Based on that recent comment regarding the upcoming class system changes I'm expecting DICE to rework the launchers. Most likely they'll be made more effective on an individual basis.
So buffed launchers, but less of them.
