I know this is a very sensitive subject and also a controversial one.However, a battle of egos is part of a game and can encourage players to improve and take the karma back to their provokers next time.I think we could test and see.

There's been some times where I get hit by an incredible shot and no way to say "not even mad, nice shot!" or whatever to the other person.

Some level of competitive banter (e.g. trash talk) can be healthy. Althogh it sometimes crosses the line into toxic conversation, that can usually be tolerated or reported and move on.All chat brought some spice to the game. Without it, it does feel too clinical and emotionless. There are times when you make that "BF moment" (e.g. tank kill at range on Air) and you want to talk smack. Or maybe you get hit with a nice shot and might even want to say "hey man, nice shot!".I suspect a big reason for removal of all chat is because of the cheating accusations leading to negative discussions and helped reinforce how lacking the past title's anti-cheat was and causing negative sentiment. Also a factor in why they removed the scoreboard. So high k/d players draw less attention.

@Anobix Most of the offensive words are already censored. And I agree with you on having mods, but I don’t think this is viable as it implies an additional cost to the mix. Maybe improving report analysis on toxicity with actual punishment would be great.
But overall this would be a minority of occurrences. The benefits of having a public chat are greater than the * IMHO.

agreed on the opt in setting. Especially for kids.
