- @BizzyVaping yes that was also my observation
This is ridiculous! 😂😂 it's not marksman "dmr" anymore, no it is a sniper 😂😂 well done!
Huge recoil and so slow to use. Maybe you dice should play your previous games and you know what kind of gun is marksman rifle. There is only dm7 now but you have to hit way too many times with it.
- @InsidiuZ they gave it the treatment the zh29 needed in BF5. Cant hit a headshot? No worries we gotya with these noob guns
- @JediMastaWyn So, hows that any worse than a sniper rifle? and both your shots still have to hit...
- @emerson1975 I don't think most people understand that, the DMR literally fills no role now. No one will take a DM7 / SVK over an AK which is stupidly good in that mid-long range and basically everywhere (that gun actually needed a nerf). When other guns were brought up, there was no need to nerf the SVK.

It shoots faster if you put a no zoom optic on it

The patch barely made any difference to the SVK. It added a bit of horizontal recoil and thats it. The recticle returns to its start position after the initial recoil, meaning that you can still 2 shot without moving the analog/mouse
I don't understand why so many are complaining.
You just have to time your second shot. fire one, wait a fraction of a second longer for the reticle to return to its initial position
The difference is so small that I didn't even notice it at first. Thegun is still a beast. And still the best gun in the game at longer ranges because it still has zero bulletdrop. @BizzyVapingThe fire rate is slower, the recoil pattern is now up and left, its recoil recovery is about twice as long.
People should be complaining because the game has now been pushed into sniper rifles and very close combat (making it feel like fortnite or Apex legends) and while pretty much every other gun has recieved a buff the SVK got nerfed - this is typical developer knee J E R K reactions. The mid-long range is dominated by Sniper rifles completely as this game has no flinch / suppression mechanics, so you can take longer to aim shots.
It isn't about timing the second shot, unless you're playing AI that isn't a relevant argument. It actually does have bullet drop, and no, it isn't even close to the DXR in longer ranges. The SVK Nerf from patch 3.1 completely ruins the DMR weapon class. The recoil and recovery has now made the SVK more comparable to a sniper rifle, but with less damage, and the DM7 was already worse than any AR.
Between the two available DMR weapons, the SVK was the only viable option as it excelled in mid range fights. And for people who complain, keep in mind that being '2-shot' by the SVK was only possible with high powered ammunition (which comes in a 5-round magazine)... With the recent changes, ARs are now better than any DMR. Why would anyone use a DMR now?
If the weapon is designed for mid range fights, why shouldn't it be the strongest weapon at this range?
With the nerf, there's no reason for anyone to use a DMR, and just one more reason in an ever growing list to not play BF2042 at all.
Nah. I have about 780 kills with the SVK and the nerf was definitely necessary. It was too dominant at all ranges.
