I'm dumb so probably
Absolutely not!
I went from not preordering but still purchase at launch with BFV, to only ordering BF2042 months after release in July 2022 when it was at a discount.
If reviews for the next title are positive I might order at launch again, but definitely no pre-order!

I will of course coz it is the only multiplayer fps game I have been playing since BF3. And the moment I see BF3 Remastered I will preorder it even if it costs hundreds of bux.

@SithMetal71BF2042 was my last buy at all, I preordered and got scammed badly, first 3 months it didn't work at all due to technical issues, features were missing, stuff got patched almost 2 years later in that was so native for any bf.... and I already had some bias from existing games from this vendor before , as they felt incomplete and just like a quick money-grab , but said "hey let's give it a final last try" ... well.
As certain features were cut out instead of beeing fixed, things were abandoned and the support feels like it's just on "make-it-look-alive-as-long-as-it-gets-sold" I can't see it getting better at all

My perspective goes back to the original title, 1942 and every game released since. BF is my go-to FPS and I've always pre-ordered because there was always a modicum of trust that the next iteration would continue the franchise, even with all the changes along the way.
2042 however was the final straw for me, which started with BFV.
I pre-ordered, played the beta where everyone complained and all the influencers said to wait for release, the release will fix everything and that didn't happen, somehow the release was actually worse than the beta.
I played for a couple of weeks after release and didn't play again for 6 months later.
So, NO, I won't pre-order knowing that I can get the game for a fraction of the cost 6 months later.
Which means my expectation is that the game will be bad, and I'll pick it up 6 months after release.
Maybe. They need to go back to where 2042 started and try again. Right now we don't have a BF game. We had more of one months ago.
No classes, no restrictions, no nerfs, and no trolls to vote against these. You can't hope to find players if you hold it back with so many outdated ideas.
*Focus on new content, not rewriting working maps to cater to those who don't know how to play. No real need for scoreboards and browsers since those encourage the wrong kind of play. And yeah keep the playercount a little on the lower side.

- SCUBASTEVE1202 years agoSeasoned Ace@SithMetal71 Definitely a NO. I'll do what I did with Battlefield 5 and wait till near the end of it's life cycle and get it on sale or for free. 2042 was a mistake to buy on Day 1 and invest in what I have into it.
