The old scoreboard
Please bring back the old scoreboard showing kills, deaths, score, ping etc of all people in the server. The new one is too messy, unclear and doesn't show me useful information or just too little in...
Literally 95+% of the community is asking for the most basic FPS feature back and those who are not, don't dislike it either. Removing it is not pleasing anyone.
This is not an innovation, in anyway.
There are other FPS games out there with up to 100 players per match and still have a scoreboard so "128 is too much for a scoreboard" is BS.
Why not add a scoreboard? Seriously, why?
Just add it already, OMFG.
already gave out a bunch of reasons why no scoreboard doesn't matter in the scoreboard thread.
K/d and point comparisons are hardly apples to apples to begin with. Some roles generate more points than other roles. Some roles automatically get more kills than others.
128 players means the overall scoreboard would be more unwieldy than before.
And for the last few games now, the more interesting stats have been given out in the "mvp" screen and in your own personal/squad (end of round) stat screen that shows you and your squad's kills, k/d, revives, ammo resupplies, vehicle kills, pistol kills, etc and a rank for each if they are in the top ~5.
And this is from a guy that constantly hit 'tab' on pc to see the scoreboard. 🙂
But I'm not married to the scoreboard. It was more an OCD thing than anything for me.
I never liked to play for points just for points sake as you start doing things that are "unnatural" like overly spamming ammo just to juice the point count or sitting on a flag to get the points even though there are 10-20 others on the flag instead of doing the better tactic of moving on to a different location or covering everyone from a different angle outside the flag zone. OR camping with a tank to juice your stats instead of taking a risk when needed to push the enemy back to get a much needed flag for the team or using your tank to kill the enemy tank.
And then as far as kills go...again the comparison is never apples to apples anyway so a big scoreboard doesn't mean much and has pretty big limitations. I mean comparing vehicle kills to a sniper who spots as much shoots doesn't say a lot. Comparing the kills of someone who covers the unguarded flags and sees just enough action to justify it, is never going to get as many kills as being in the thick of a big battle and yet, in terms of holding flags for the team, it counts for just as much if not more. Comparing the kills/k/d of someone in a pre-made squad with medics to follow him around to another person without that isn't apples to apples either.
...so the scoreboard isn't all that and a bag chips as some feel.
