The Portal Editor and the 4k 60FPS Maps - Are we happy?

    Diving one level down into the Portal Game Designer engine room, here in the advanced settings we can program our own logic controls of the game flow and events, including the weather conditions.  So looks like we also here can disable the tornados on the new maps when we start to be too tired of them.

    Thank you EA for leaving us the many nice toys to play with in the sandbox!  :o)

Hi @SirBobdk ,

Great points with the portal is that it appears as the server designer/owner also have access to some kind of admin panel while it is live with players in game, and kick/ban options are available there!   I havent seen yet if the server designer/owner can share this ‘admin access’ with a group of trusted players to function as co-admins, but can only assume so.  But that will essentially give us the same function then as we had on aka rented servers on BF4 , which allowed us to kick off/ban players we observed going ‘rogue’….  

The server design editor enables you to set up and run the server as private.  Including setting it up requiring a password to join it if you will, so think you have all you ask for there.   Coming back in business yet?  😃🥳💥

it could definitely get me back on the battlefield. 

Will the server run 24/7 or close down with the client.

    From the website info:

    "Community Experiences are created when you make a match, and will remain online while the Experience has players active. At launch you can also expect basic Admin Tools usable by creators of Experiences, such as the ability to ban usernames which continue across Experiences you create.

    If you end up liking another player’s Experience, you can Follow that player to keep track of when they’re running matches. As a creator, you’ll be able to share your own creations and give others permission to build upon them with their Settings and logic edits (more on that below). Some of the most creative and popular player-created Experiences will be featured in official curated playlists, making it convenient for you to find fun and inventive new matches the moment you load into Battlefield Portal."

      Definitely excited! Reminds me of the workshop mode in Overwatch, but probably more in depth here. Considering some of the crazy modes/experiences made there, I’m super excited to see what the community creates with the Portal. I can definitely see not only multiplayer experiences made, but more custom coop or single player experiences too.

        Question to measure 'the temperature' among the ol'timers here:

        Do we care about the latency on players joining to play on our game map? 

        Is it a 'must-have' option, to ensure we avoid the lag, rubberbanding and missing hit registration/dusting, etc...   It is actually a parameter that I have not yet seen mentioned in the list of trigger points in the Portal's Advanced Settings and the related Logic Controls script panel.

        Nothing personal, but I just do not enjoy playing against players with latencies above aka 1 second and experiencing all the game mechanical shortcomings due to this...
