The Question of Aim Assist
Okay, I'm finally putting this here, because I am really, really at a loss. How powerful is the console aim assist? From my POV, it might as well be a legalised aimbot. Currently, I have to resort...
@TwentyValve I can play anywhere from noon until night. My ping is 28-40 on average, and whenever I've had a high ping, I die even more quickly because nothing can be hit. I used to watch players with 12 ping dominating matches. I watched players with 300 ping dominating matches. Makes no difference. Now that crossplay is permanently enabled, it makes even less difference. Single rank console players are all landing headshots, performing 180 spins, clearly locating you through obstructions, tanking damage and killing instantly. I have console players outranging rifle shots with SMGs. I have players eating a full railgun magazine when a bot can only take three rounds to kill. Same old, same old. Enemy player takes an age to die, but kills me the way you'd kill a bot.
@RaginSam When I play against bots, I can blitz each one in a few rounds. Kill maybe four with the railgun mag. In a player match, you're lucky to get one. But you've got players mowing people down with any weapon they choose and its like watching them playing against bots. Damage and hit registration should not be any different for them, yet somehow in every match they compensate for 32-64 varying players with all those variables of movement and latency, and they do the same thing every single time. Inch perfect accuracy. Headshots with holo sights that outrange powered scopes. Its like when you watch Jackfrags (who I understand has actually been banned from games for using cheats) capping people left right and centre like its nothing, and its like watching someone playing bots. Even when I play against bots, and I can rack up like 160 kills, I may also die up to 13 times because the bots get a shot in. Yet somehow these players, against actual players, get sometimes a fraction of that death amount. Something seriously does not add up with them.
