@j1dog I always think the same, why in every game do they add this glare anyway... it's against any physics, and also camo tactic solutions.
if the sniper is against the sun, yeah it should glare but on the other hand, people walking on the map with silver masks, and some shiny charms that reflect light.
or any embarrassing skins in the game providing that against any warfare rules.
but this is the Fortnite age so I suppose this is what people like...
back to the scope subject.
In my service, we used camo fabric to cover the scope and still allow you to see through it. only a little bit blurry depending on the thickness of the fabric.
I'm not sure the word for it in English, but there is lots of solution against glares of scope since the Vietnam War (not really just want to point out those methods are really old), also minimizer or again not sure of the name of it in English that covers all the scope but only a small dot remain,
so realistic warfare experience is not something the developers want to give us.

@avivperets26 I rarely play sniper but have to say a few things:
- Sniping is a perfectly good way to play the whole game. ‘Play the objective’ is just something ‘run and gun people’ say because you bother them. That’s all fine.
- Scope glint has to be present in the game so ‘run and gun people ‘ can hunt you down.
As others said this is a game, not everything is realistic they just try to balance things out so you as a sniper have to take a risk playing sniper.
‘Run and gun’ people’s risk is they can get shot easily because they are close to the action.
You choose which risk you want to take. There has to be a risk for both sides.

Sniper rifles can one-shot people at any distance, which is pretty powerful. And then having no downsides to that?
All other guns are highly unrealistic as well, who survives a headshot from a gun in real life? The range of the guns (non snipers) are totally unrealistic, real guns do not become 'pellet-shooters' when shooting at people from 50+ meters. Things like recoil, spread etc are unrealistic as well. Dice is even going to nerf the range of LMGs/SMGs in the next patch using spread.
One could argue that the sniper-rifles are already some of the most realistic guns in the game...
