"It'll be back again before too long" Are you kidding, i want it back now, i payed 80euros to play RUSH with my friends as we do since 13 years.
I can compose with the * characters, the lack of maps, the lack of guns, the bugs, the poor optimization, etc... BUT don t take away the only game mode i m playing.
Anyway, EA just lost four more players.

I know it's annoying but it is what it is. Rush hasn't been a core game mode since about mid-way through BFV (that's when the limited-time game modes effectively began). If you're not fussed with ribbons and so on, you may be able to find Rush matches using the browser at least.
- 4 years ago@ElliotLH Not a core mode, maybe for you. Also you can host a rush game in BFV with your own custom settings and with full progression towards tides of war assignments. Once community games for BFV went live.
Completely different to portal rush which still has no progression towards ribbons or assignments. Despite specifically advertising that you would be able to..
Just more examples of dumb DICE. How many times can we keep asking them to stop taking choices away from us and be expected to believe them when they say they are listening.
I mean really, it is just banging you head against a brick wall.
- kregora4 years agoSeasoned Ace@ElliotLH The feature modes in Portal are temporary because the playbase is too small to support all legacy modes at the same time.
It was already hard for player to find their favorite mode on a weekly basis, but now this becomes even more reliable.
So is the decision understandable, sure. Will it help in promoting Portal, doubtful.
So DICE did everything to make Portal NOT an viable alternative to All out Warfare, despite the fact this could have been the killer feature in BF2042.
It helped to keep some players to return frequently, but I think this will reduce the interest in Portal even more.
For me personally I was exited to experiment with Portal to make the BF2042 the "better" game we wanted it to be, like most likely all players that hoped for Classic and Hardcore presets. But DICE effectively didn't kept their promise that the progression in Portal will be the same as in All out Warfare by limiting it to only a handful now half a handful of "featured" modes. - 4 years ago

@H1N1-DALLASThe featured modes in Portal are always temporary. It'll be back again before too long.In the original plans and messaging on this from EA/DICE execs in the public Q&As we had up until launch, it was described actually even to be expected that the modes/portal experiences that turned out to be the most popular would even be moved from the Portal area and then into the core game area as permanent fixtures.
I find this central iron-fist control from EA/.DICE is terrible and detriment for most players over time, when a server experience is proving very popular and attracting players then just to be shut down again by EA/DICE because they insist that those same players now instead should help to fill up other server experiences in which actually they may have no interest to play!
It is a sign that those game- and server strategy controllers at EA/DICE have no experience with player population management from previous BF games. Because with this tone deaf iron-fist approach, they put more players off than new players they attract.
It takes maturity to understand and respect player preferences and not just iron-fist impose your own opinion on everything around you. But that is required if you want to attract more players than just yourself and a few likeminded friends.
But now with so many other symptoms of single mindedness, lack of broader Battlefield understanding and characteristics for what made previous versions work, guess we should not be surprised why EA/DICE still even manage to kill the last few glimmers of life in this mess named BF2042...
- kregora4 years agoSeasoned Ace@CyberDyme I think they made some assumptions to rectify some short cuts they took in development. And I assume that one of the assumption was to have 30000-50000 concurrent players on Steam and not 2000. My conclusion is, that the player base is no longer viable for the number of official and featured modes.
I believe the situation would be worse, IF portal were a viable option to All Out Warfare.
So all the warnings, starting with the announcements over play test and beta were ignored. The players realized that the situation actually was worse than the rumors suggested at release, and still I have the impression the the EA/DICE management believes that the release a top game, but the players are to blame that they are to stupid to see the mangements wisdom.- 4 years ago
they removed the mode again....
oh wait , they let the rush mode but with SMG only and with 64 players and the same number of tickets....
it s just incredible... the person who take deicsion on portal is completely stupid
