Hey @EA_Atic
Thank you for your feedback. This was just what I've figured out during my ten-hour trial. Unfortunately, I miss some stuff in Portal to get creative.
I'd love to use vehicles for win conditions. Alongside the option to make enemies defend them and the close area. Then we could make missions, like capture the helicopter and fly it to your base or destroy vehicles. I can think of an option to use friendly soldiers, making them captive that they don't get attacked, so I can free them.
To be creative, we need fewer boundaries. Please have confidence in your community! I don't know, why the logic editor is so restricted. Right now, all we get out of it is tweaked classic multiplayer game modes. But the potential is there, to turn it into more and something special. Even for single-player and coop. Right now it is the bare minimum of what I can think of.
I've put 5.5k hours into modding Arma. Here's my version of customizing a game, but with a more common interface to set things up:

I know this type of modding will never happen to Battlefield, but more options in Portal would be great. I'm open to discussing and sharing my thoughts on the potential of Portal. I'm sure this would be a gold mine for great game modes, bring back players, and contribute to the long-term success, that BF2042 could need right now. Feel free to contact me.
Have a nice one!

- KnightFury684 years agoNew Ace@KingOfNuthin this type of modding needs to happen in this battlefield game just to save it. MODDERS could make this game awesome.
- Gurz1019_MP1 year agoSeasoned Hotshot@KingOfNuthin Portal was one of the most commendable attempts at 2042. Some fans in Japan tried to create features that were found in traditional BF, such as the overall kill log, in logic, or even classic BT. However, those features were later implemented on the game side, and BT could also be selected as a game mode. Compared to a typical development environment, there were a lot of disruptive changes, and even when we created a good, original experience, it was almost always destroyed by updates. I think EA needs a little more experience to provide this type of environment. They need to design more carefully what part of the content they are creating is optional and customizable and what part is core logic that cannot be modified. I am a programmer, so I was very attracted to this logic editor, but at the time of release, these results were so predictable that I did not want to take the time to create custom logic that would break. In fact, what I wanted most was not custom logic, but a map editor...assuming CQ, how nice would it have been to be able to draw your own boundaries and set areas for each map? I hope EA will take advantage of this experience and provide a mechanism for motivated players to create their own content in future installments of the series.
