@Straatford87 I have been greatly enjoying the update with the class system back, especially now that with the class gadget it is much more likely that each person will be carrying something that contributes to teamplay.
When playing engineer I no longer have to forgo the repair tool if I want to carry a rocket launcher, which before the update is why I felt like Lis was unequivocally the best specialist for that since she could always carry both. I also see the spawn beacons in my games far more frequently which has been fantastic.
The assault medpen is pretty meh IMO, it exists and it's fine. Then the support class gadget just took the ability they already had and turned it into a gadget, which for the sake of balance was probably the right decision but they just ended up being the odd one out to not really benefit that much from the update.
I am on the fence about the weapon proficiency and allowing all classes to use all guns though. On one hand I appreciate it because it gives you a bit more choice, but on the other I sometimes feel like the proficiency isn't impactful enough to encourage people to use the weapons that should fit the desired playstyle of their class more. Who needs assault's three extra mags for your AR when as support you can bring an ammo box or play Angel?
There also ends up being some guns that just don't get a proficiency when used with any class, notably the marksman guns and the railgun which still have scope sway even when playing recon. I also feel like the DM7 could easily fit the role of any of the classes and it receives no proficiency at all.
