Where should I start? What were you thinking when you made this update live?
The truth is, the people who were still playing this game loved (!) playing with the Specialists. You have now introduced classes for a player base that is no longer there. What's the point?
I've been playing Battlefield since BF 1942, would I have liked a normal BF with classes? Yes! I don't care if there are Specialists! But now, 1 year after release, changes like this, feel like an April Fool's joke.
On top of that, the complete way the game is played has been changed. No one has anti-air or anti-tank weapons anymore. So tanks and helicopters are completely op again.
And one more thing: Specialists like Crawford were already completely useless before. And now they are even more so. The only engineer is Liz and she can't equip the good missiles like Javelin.
The update is absolute crap! I hate the new class division!
After playing with the new update for some time. My general feeling is that the modified the class system makes the game worse.
The part I like:
- You can carry an extra gadget with you. In my case, mostly smoke granade to help when reviving a squad mate.
The part that I don't like
- The vehicle balance has been changed to the worst. There are less player playing as Engineer, which means the vehicles are more dominate. Supply drop is now more scarce which means you use up your rockets pretty quickly.
- It feels that there are lesser medic in game that revives. It was bad before, but it felt worse. I don't have the data for this, just an ingame feeling.
Let the rockets be stronger, specially when vehicles have the new anti-armor feature. Give players more tools to deal with air vehicle because there are hardly anyone play Rao or use Soflam.
One of the real problems I have been having is trying to actually get a class to do what it is supposed to do.
My old combo was using the COMPLETLY NERFED NTW-50 and going vehicle hunting, well now I cant do that. Not only does the NTW-50 not work the original way it was intended but you have to select having ammo for your main weapon, which is only like 20 bullets, and having a gadget launcher for vehicles, or having ammo for the main gun and no launcher.
if the NTW-50 is supposed to be anti-material, why can I not get more ammo than 20 rounds? especially when it takes 12-16 shots on target to actually kill a vehicle because of the repair modes on them. it makes the NTW-50 basically useless! you cant kill a vehicle with the ammo you have without the vehicle being able to heal or you dying basically ever.
if you can tell me what class is supposed to attack vehicles maybe that would help but there should be a class that can at least help more with the vehicles.
I'll keep putting in votes that the patch was bad and we need to go back to the original vision for the game. Enough people liked it that it could exist, and anyone that didn't can still go back to the previous games. Changes need to happen for games to evolve. Weapon/tool restrictions are like old RPG's that made you go to an inn to save. There are better ways now.
And if the classes don't go, just get rid of the restrictions.
There needs to be class weapons restrictions like every other battlefield and while I’m at it bring back team balancing I’m tired of match making screwing me over every game
Swap the weapon proficiency’s of assault and support. Assault class should not be aloud to use DMR, SNIPERS (including the MK-4) the more you allow lone wolf aka COD/FORNITE play the less BATTLEFIELD this game is
With the return of the meaningless and outdated class system, there is even less teamwork in the game, contrary to the illusions of fools. Everything returned to the level of BF3/BF4, when this teamwork was just that much, about zero. Now it becomes clear that the system of specialists was a step forward. Degradation and nerfing of everything to the point of meaninglessness - this is the strategy by which the game moves.

They could effectively restrict, build structure and balance/give sense of orderliness to the gameplay by having some sort loadout's strength measuring based on equipment value: unit cost and effectiveness while giving players limited numbers of those loadout points which gives access to different equipment. Building your own class and premade icon based on loadout; representing your own personal playstyle on the field.
Having complete freedom made everyone be prepared to engage with vehicles without any downsides.
I personally though appreciate developers trying new things. I hope next game won't have same old four class system we have had over years or specialists. Either more classes with nicher roles covering every aspect of gameplay and synergies or system with loadout points I suggested earlier where we can by ourself cover those aspects and build own synergy systems with tools available. 🤔
