I don't understand. Why have a sniper "class" when any character can use a snipe rifle?
Recon is called recon because they can spot targets, which is not limited to using a sniper rifle. I say its a good thing to have options to spot that isn't just camping in a corner or up in a hill to help the team. Not everyone likes using snipers but like the kit and role so having any weapon you like with a kit you like is good. Only casper is more like a traditional recon but the others are fine and don't rely on staying in one place to use effectively.
It's called recon for reconnaissance, not recon for sniping.
