Yesterday was the first time in months I played 2042. When I do it is to play with my brother and sister in law on xbox/ps and besides COD there aren't a whole lot of crossplay fps. Being that I don't play that much and I do actually have to aim with my mouse (as opposed to basically developer endorsed aimbot for "aim assist," which hey, if that is what it takes to make it crossplay then whatev) I usually die lot. I had basically found that I was the most help to my teammates by using the wingsuit along with a sniper and spawn beacon. Now to last night. I was slightly intoxicated when i got the text. Fumbled in the game settings for 15min or so, then they told me. Struggled with it for another half hour and got pissed off and went to bed.
One, why did they have to do the whole "identity politics?" this is a game. but no, all of the characters, on release, were unique individuals and they could all use whatever they want! so one plays by the rules and grinds it out and finds something that works and now lets go backward? how about removing the character perks altogether then? or how about it doesn't matter what color or gender you are, the player choose their appearance AND perk? i mean that is real equality.
What I have been saying for a while is that there needs to be some consumer protections in this industry. Imagine buying a car and one morning you come out and it's a different color, or they had changed the engine all without asking you. "Its an update to balance out the traffic." "But shouldn't I have a choice?" "LOL NO"
