Update Probems - how much storage?

Question

Hi AllAm I the only one experiencing update problems today (season 4 week 3)?&nbsp; i'm told that I don't have enough disc space, fair enough, so uninstalling apps and&nbsp; deleting files like mad, but Windows 11 is giving m the run around! Apparently I have less storage available AFTER I have deleted apps. Not a problem for this forum I know but....The updater is telling me that I need 72.67 GB. I've never going to get down to that, and never have had that much free space for any of the updates. Is that really tellng me that I need 72GB clear in addition to the 70 ish GB that is already occupied by BF 2042 on my SSD drive? Really don't want to install on my optical drive.Thinking re-install, but just wanted to get a feel first.Is it just me or is anyone else struggling?THanks all.

@lzilchetl If you found a virus it may be worth reformatting and installing windows fresh...

That said, you can try running Windows Disk Cleanup utility [as admin] and have it clear up old windows installs [did you recently upgrade to 11? if so, it will have old Win10 files still there for either 30 or 90 days] as well as old updates.

@lzilchetl The update when I did it was only 1.07GB or there about. EA recommends having 100 GB free when first downloading, although I don’t think it’s that large. (Not at pc will check physical size later). Interwebs indicates it’s 46-50GB. Did you try doing a repair then updating?

@lzilchetl You’ll find repair under the “manage” button, it will open another menu. EA App isn’t super intuitive lol. Good luck.

@ATFGunr After overnight scans spent the morning so far deleting a virus that was eating up my storage, but still need to recover the lost GBs! But sort of answered part of the problem. I've got that new EA launcher that does not offer repair (not that I can find anyway) and the original Origin isn't available anymore. I've managed to claw back around 4GB so far but usually run with 15 - 20 GB free - but this has never stopped updates to date. The EA app insists that the update needs 72GB. Even after clearing 4GB from the drive, the launcher still says I only have 27Mb.

Thanks for that anyway.... need to get some work done... but will run scans and clean-up over the day and probably reinstall the launcher. A bloody pain though!

All good now and I have my storage back and waiting for BF2042 to finish download (7hours apparently - that ADSL for you!) I might get a game tonight.... usually polish off most of the weekly missions on Tuesday night!&nbsp;Thank for getting back to me. I'vd had WIN 11 for quite a while, and spent hours deleting Creative Cloud apps and others to create space, but every time I created space the storage&nbsp; filled up again. Nasty virus!But nice clean machine now!
