Updated Renewal Map Review

Thoughts?

The Good:

  • I do like the flow better, the objectives are now more linear.
  • The added cover and objective updates are nice.
  • I like the darker lighting in E sector (indoors). 

The Bad:

  • At the start, RU has a distinct advantage in Conquest as they can get to 5 objectives. So it usually starts 5 to 3. 
  • Sectors have an uneven number of objectives. B sector has 1 pt, D has 2 pts. 
    • My simple recommendation: Make D1 into C2. So C sector has 2 central points, and B and D only have 1. This would make the a lot more even for pts to sectors.

    I think it's great. I am having a blast on it. The smaller map is a good thing. 

  • I like it, I always thought the game could use a continual refresh of maps... whether it be new structures or just a re-arranging of capture points.

    The main problem I have is still related to the players, not the game mechanics, and that is out of my control as well.

  • This weekend will be my first experience of Renewal 128. Will be interesting no doubt!

  • They need to rework the breakthrough layout

    The first sector is a pain because the enemies spawn on both side of the point on A1

  • @Adamonic Not crazy about the “Flow” on this one or Kaleidoscope. I wont play them. I’ve never been shot in the back more than on these new maps. Every time it’s like getting shot by a box or a shipping container.

    @Adamonic Yes, it's a clear disadvantage for US (i just played 128 player version). The only problem with this map was lack of cover which now is addressed more or less. But I'm still spending to much on running in desert which is actually not fun. They should increase number of transport vehicles in desert part of the map. Although after a few weeks no one will play 128 version of the map and i can only find a match in exedous conquest (64 player) so we sure be more concerned about 64player version of this map lol

    I think the rework is junk!  Great they added a bunch of objects, but there is still very little protection from the copters.  And great idea making most of the points closer now, not!  Copters just jump back and forth over the wall farming infantry.  You don't even have time to lock on with an AA or perform a hack.

    I spawn with the Wildcat when playing US and just stick around on the hills in between A and B.

    This triggers the transport chopper spammers so much they try their best to parachute out and C5 you.

    The other choppers soon learn to avoid the US side and eventually if you have a good team the US can push further on the other side of the wall as the choppers know they can't escape to US side without my Wildcat attacking them while they wait for flares to reload. So they have to try and avoid the AA from our US team on that side of the wall.
