Years later I still find it rather ridiculous that enemy vehicles can just take pot shots from areas that would normally be out of bounds for the time team - this works both ways and is pretty diffic...

V Vehicles always had a supply station in their base so it made limited ammo pretty much inconsequential; 2042 made it worse, imo, with vehicles now auto-healing back to 100% health
@TTZ_Dipsy Having to drive all the way back to your base to rearm meant that the tank at some point had to leave the area which was kind of the point. And if you were driving one of the slow heavy tanks that would take you out of the action for a period of time.
However in reality you would try and rearm at a closer ammo station but if it was close to the enemy or in an enemy cap zone then it was a risky move.
