Veterans Far and Wide

So, as I was discussing in another topic by @carsono311 , do you all think it is a possibility that dev team was well aware that the gameplay mechanics of, for sake of argument I’ll say BF2042 proper for the main game for release, we’re always known to be a dividing force and known to be widely poorly received, but it would cater to a new, fresh crowd that maybe they had not been able to tap into before, they knew it might not appeal as much on multiple levels to series regulars. Knowing all of that, they are banking on the “love letter to fans”, Portal. So we can butter our bread and, if we wish, effectively make a remastered BF3 or BF4 if we do wish it without all of the mechanics we are seeing in BF2042 proper. Now, I know some are liking it, which if it gets you going more power to you, but I think that is not a plurality of the base. So, I’m calling on many of the die bards; what are your thoughts on this hypothesis? Do you think I’m nuts? Or do you think this could possible be the case? It kind of makes sense, because this way, they get to have the best of both worlds.
