Well other than some QOL improvements the gameplay is now worse... well done

Vehicle combat is broken:
1) Forcing littlebirds into the air attack category and then upping the cooldown on air attack vehicles is asinine
2) Condors/Hinds dominate everything now
3) Jets are still broken and OP against ground vehicles

The quantity of air vehicles on 128 player maps was fine as it was, they just needed balancing in terms of effectiveness vs certain targets.

This is the same thing that has happened to other games when the lowest common denominators crying was put at the top of the pile when it came to adjustments, just like the last patch with attack helio nerfs - attack helios are probably the easiest air vehicle to kill and yet they needed to be nerfed...

If in a group of 128 players cant have a handful of people willing to run stingers / M5's that is the teams problem not the community issue. The changes to gameplay when it comes to vehicles is just catering to the lowest common denominator who wants to run around in a battlefield game like its COD and not have to work with their team.

That isn't what battlefield was about and never has been. Why is it so difficult to balance vehicle damage/health like they were in BFBC2/ BF3 / BF4 when this game franchise wasn't half baked?

Other stupid stuff that hasnt been fixed:
- Still cant differentiate between attack and transport helios on the map
- Sundance is still stupidly broken in the hands of anyone who plays objectives and her wingsuit needs to be put on a cooldown.
- No official ranked hardcore mode, saying its too easy to level up weapons is absurd when you can level them up vs AI
- Rifles, SMGs, Shotguns with less bullet drop over distance than some sniper rifles
- Still no increase to small mobility vehicles like old games had to get between objectives

- Cant turn off KILLCAM for hardcore servers still?

  • @Phugazi First rule of software engineering: never write the same code twice. Second rule, make your code interchangeable so you can use it over and over

Spaghetti code is the sign of a noob. You can quote me on that to your boss

@TAW_RinkoYup, thats the thing - I think vehicles and their numbers were fine prior to this patch.

If people didn't want to counter them thats on them, the biggest issue with the game was lack of VOIP and incentives for squad based activity. Remember when there used to be squad bonuses?
I remember when Dice wanted squads to play their game, and had tools in their games to allow people to organize towards a common objective.

I think it's interesting to note how many completely valid criticisms can be made of 2042 that organized play would have negated.

Too much open ground to cover on a map? Oh well, its good we already organized who's driving what, with who in it, where.

Opposing air being a pain? Convert an AT squad to an AA squad, you've already had those squads practice both roles.

The lack of VOIP and squad based bonuses were symptoms of Dices disregard for people playing together in large groups of their friends.

  • Yup. I actually just snapped my disc copy in half. DICE is * *.

Still haven't fixed the aim on console and if anything, it's gotten even worse.

This is it for Battlefield. Typical shjt DICE breaking more shjt.

    Battlefield is now officially dead.

  • @TAW_Rinko indeed, and the thing is a lot of things like that I was able to mitigate even solo. Like in matches prior to voip if helis were harassing my team badly id pull out a stinger and deter them sometimes even without firing.

This is why ive alluded to the changes - in particular to helis and heli spawns - as being catering to the lowest common denominator who expects to run and gun in battlefield like its COD
