What is the first thing you'll do or check out when booting up 2042?

I decided to still purchase 2042 when it comes out. Just out of curiosity.

For me, the first thing i'll do (and please dont kill me) is to see if they actually added a proper scoreboard. That is of course after i most likely will throw a fit because there wont be a server browser. So im sure this will go well. 😉 Once i had some tee to calm down, i will prob choose "Sundance" Specialist and go into a conquest map, other than Orbital. After an hour i will most likely return to his board and moan...so yeah. 🙂 (im not being all that serious ok).

@Buzzfunk Review all available settings and tweak them as needed, while hoping that EA DICE ran enough optimization passes…

I do not buy the game on release date.
I hope for good reviews here in the forum and on social media especially about the portal.
And in that case buy the game. Then I will check out the air planes.

First thing is jump intoto a game quickest way possible to get my keybindings, mouse settings and graphic settings sorted, then I'm gonna spend alot of time playing about with portal.

@Buzzfunk 1. Configure the headshot sound to the one from BF1
2. Spend a considerable amount of time debating back and forth with myself on what map to start on.
3. Equip my epic battle hardened skin - because looks are important and also because I want everyone to see that I am so rich and successful that I splurged for the Ultimate Edition, making me feel like a more important person.
4. Figure out the quickest and most efficient way to take out nightbirds.
5. Feel relieved that I do not need to see my abysmal K/D rates at the end of each round.

On current gen (PS5, Xbox Series S|X, PC) disable Crossplay.
On last gen adjusting settings.

@Buzzfunk The very first thing I will check is, if there is an option to adjust friend and foe colors, and reticle color. Disable or change menu activation sounds, tune down in-game music to 10%.

@TrasteTh Although i can see why console would want to stay away from PC, this did make me chuckle.

And my answer to the OP is, play core a bit and see how tings actually turned out, with fleeing to portal and camping a corner while muttering "it'll be ok, it just needs balancing" over and over while rocking slowly back and forth both ingame and out a possible plan B.
