Although for now it looks like Battlefield 2042 will be one of the better titles in Battlefield series, what do you think is still preventing you from instant pre-ordering this game?
For me it is lack of some kind of offline mode.
We have not yet seen anything about the gameplay, AC or rental servers. But even so I’m done preorder. Will wait for rewievs and comments on social medier. If they are positive I may buy the game. But only some time after release
I know almost nothing about it. There has been very little information released about the game. I don't even know the system specs to determine what or if I need to upgrade my PC.
Apart from not actually seeing much of the game it's not as if they are going to run out of downloads is it?
And if I don't get a ps5 (or maybe xsx) I'm not sure if I will anyway.

Knowing that BFV turned out to be such a dumpster fire, I want to wait and see how this new BF game turns out before parting with my money.
I have learned my lesson on pre ordering games. as much as i want to try this game and i think it really looks great and im so down for 128 player maps. I have been burnt way to many times to ever pre order.
preordering lowers the need to improve the product, owners of the corporation got the money already, minimizing their incentive - because they see that as option to cut the costs.
And another note ... I preordered the last time ... bfbc 2. And I was disappointed due to no bots not at the start or later in patches. And forced online. A huge turnoff fromk buying further bf games. No preorder as a matter of principle. I do not want a cat in a bag, even though it might be good. I trust marketing to lie oro deceive, unless I can actually prove that they actually are telling the truth.
No cyborg story is great, bf 42 had none. And it was fine.
First, the fact that BFV's post-launch updates were problematic, cut short, and many promised features never made it into the game. They gave up on fixing so many of the game's bugs, didn't update the lackluster Grand Operations mode, didn't do anything substantial about anti-cheat or team balance, added so few maps in the crucial first months of the game, didn't do the promised updates to Firestorm, and antagonized the community with experimenting on the TTK twice, once during that brief window of opportunity they had to redeem the game with the new Pacific content. It's pretty clear that upper management gave up on the game the moment pre-orders and first-day sales weren't up to their expectations. Heck, I currently have a bug where several skins I earned in the pre-launch Road to BFV event disappeared, and I have no way of getting those back since they were exclusive to the pre-launch period, EA Help insists they can't issue them back, and the game isn't getting anymore updates. Like, it's a minor issue, but it's the principle of the matter; why should I preorder BF2042 if I might just lose bonuses anyway due to a bug that never gets fixed?
Second, thematically I just prefer WW1 and WW2 settings. In terms of BF2042 I'm most excited about BF Portal and its revival of BF1942, but I'm not sure I'm willing to commit to the game just yet since future BF1942 content will depend on how successful the entire concept is, and the way BFV's live service was handled shows it's better to not hope too much.
Hackers, that's the only issue for me.
BFV is unplayable right now on PC. It has became a point where you start wishing the hackers in your team are better than the hackers in the other team. Literally 3 to 5 hackers per team in every single server (Singapore server).
I provide the vehicle damage stats (e.g. what damage tank shell A does to Infantry Fighting Vehicle) so in order to do that I need access to a mode where I can just be alone or with one other person and pit vehicles against each other while I record the results. BF4 this is was easy to do but in BFV the test range was awful and only had a few vehicles and no vehicle customization allowed. And community servers forced you to have 4 players before you could access vehicles.
From what is sounds like, I should be able to get what I need from either solo mode, portal or test range BUT I haven't got confirmation yet. As soon as I hear I can get into a server with just 1-2 players and have access to vehicles then I'll pull the trigger.
