Played a few rounds on conquest, the close quarters combat is fine, and there are enough objects and variations to the terrain to give you cover.
It does feel a lot like Discarded 2.0 and it doesn't help that shipping containers are already so common in the game.
I was hoping we would see a proper shanty town market that had been set up inside the ship around the red container area and some living quarters rooms.
Overall the map plays well but I'm not as impressed as I was with Exposure.
On a side note, I'm not sure if this map uses higher resolution textures because its smaller, has more clutter detail, or if its just the colour palette / lighting but it looks better than pretty much all the other maps so props on that front.
I hope the next map is an urban setting, and by that I don't mean set in a city with the playable area being 80% parkland.
Something with multiple city blocks made up of 3 to 4 storey buildings with winding streets and narrow laneways - basically Karkand.
Its a bit annoying the closest thing we currently have is Arica Harbor, which is a great map but the town is tiny.

We're getting the bare minimum required to legally fulfill their obligation. It's so obvious looking at this new map. It's just a bunch of already developed assets slapped together.
If they remastered Karkand, Metro and Locker I think they'd win quite a large audience back. Unfortunately as new 2042 maps go from here on in, I don't think we're going to see any new redeveloped assets for a map like you mention. It's too much work for what little playerbase they have left and EA knows this. Especially having to redo all 2042 again. @I_DYN4MO_I I wonder if there is anything preventing them from using the old models from BF3.
I would assume they still have all the old files from whatever program they used to model them and setup destruction with.
The program they used to model 12 years ago might no longer be part of their workflow but they are sitting on a gold mine of assets they could export and would probably require little tinkering to get working with the latest version of Frostbite - as in less effort than making entirely new assets.
It's uhm ok I guess better than some of the base maps but definitely not of the same caliber as Exposure.
Interior of the ship is great for Mackay I suppose (I generally don't use Mackay, sooo) but still feels like you're way to exposed between the outside capture points.

What of it isn't flat? The copy and paste ship from Discarded?!
That's what they should have done with this poor effort at map making. Discarded it.
- @Ironhead841 i'll probably use mckay enough to T1 him. only need a few hundred kills which should go quick in there (then i never have to use him again)

Yeah I agree, it will never be a favourite by any means and imho Exposure is a much better map.
I am disappointed that the outside capture points just seem to be a bit random and lacking in imagination / character, certainly not in any way memorable in comparison to maps in earlier BF's.
The inside areas are a bit too similar to Discarded / Manifest so didn't really bring anything new to the table.
If it had been one of four maps in a DLC it may have been more palatable but on it's own its not really going to keep the game fresh for another three months imho.
Maybe it will feel a bit better after playing it for a day or two.
- @RayD_O1 Total crap, like the last POS they handed us. This game keeps getting worse, not better.

Played this map one time today and i need to play it more for a full impression. but my first and fast view is not bad. Personaly i like the combat inside the ship....there can be total rampage going on there.Ow.... i forgot to mention that i had a good round this time.
Conquest, PS4.
I’m not super thrilled with the map layout; all the objectives outside of the boat feel haphazardly arranged and awkward to play in and around, as well as move between.
The inside of the boat is good, and that’s probably where the best action on the map will prove to be.
The top of the boat is completely stupid to me; if we aren’t going to have objectives up there, and with essentially no ways directly down from the roof into the ship, it just doesn’t interact well with objective flow. It’s super awkward and frankly I wish there weren’t any ways to get to the top of the boat. More effort needs to go into keeping the flow of players and play focused; having regions like the top of the boat do nothing to help that.
I think the map would have been better narrowed to two objective lanes- the boat interior and either the A1-D1 line or B1-E1 line. I don’t think play really benefits from having 3 lanes. I think B1-E1 is a bit nicer to navigate of the two outdoor lines, but I still would have preferred flatter terrain to allow more consistent long sight lines while outside.
