When is the next “feedback loop”?

@Straatford87 @PartWeIsh @T0TALfps

In March, DICE said that they would return in a couple of weeks to start the next “feedback loop” focusing on specialists. It’s now the middle of April and nothing has happened yet. Recently a dev stated on Twitter that specialists would be reworked but not removed, even though an overwhelming majority of the Battlefield community (including myself) feel that they absolutely need to be removed from the game. Right now I feel like EA/DICE is trying to skip out on publishing this feedback loop so that they can keep ignoring us and continue their trend of radio silence. Is there any news on when the next feedback loop will start?

    Mach Making was part of the business pitch for Battlefield 2042, most likely is a hard no no to touch it, not because of technical problems, but monetary ones.

    Even if they know that it would not affect the cost to maintain the game, most likely they would need to have a lot of meetings with the higher ups to be allowed to make any change.

  • Apologies if it's been mentioned already, but I have a sinking feeling the reason the Server Browser hasn't been implemented (or for all we know, just switched on - Portal has a browser) is because then we'll get actual hard data on the player population.

    I know we're all just making guesses because that's all we've been left to do, but it makes a daunting kind of sense that management wants to deploy patches first with the intention of rebuilding the player base to a healthy population - some poor soul's KPI no doubt - & then open up browser.

    Honestly this whole dev cycle feels off, I can't imagine what it must be like to be a junior or core staff on this project.

    @harley31688 I wouldn’t really say surprised, more like “incredibly frustrated at DICE’s sheer incompetence”

    @vroenis people are not going to come back until there is new content, they have easier access to play in the servers they want to play in, and/or when they add back in basic platoon and squad management functionality. All of this should have been in the game on Day 1.

    I don't think the Server Browser is going to unmask some hidden secrets about player population. They literally have not even mentioned it since launch and I don't think they intend to add one, which is game breaking for a lot of players.

    @Adamonicoh 100% I agree with you, but unfortunately I don't think this project is being managed transparently or rationally. It really is a very corporate thing for management to say "we must never reveal our player data" - you're dead right, it won't surprise anyone.

    And agreed, too, that content is the only thing that will bring players back - the two have to go hand-in-hand though which I think we're all feeling. We need visibility of healthy servers - in our region if we have them - and be able to stay in a server without geting re-match-made after every round. Imagine new content being launched only to have to keep getting match-made into Hourglass over and over again.

    As you rightly point out even if they do introduce new content MM will continue to make sure we can't play any new maps, sad but true.

    I am assuming after the patch next week they will start the specialist feedback loop here.

    I think you are correct!
