Given the current global political atmosphere, it seems bizarre that China seems completely absent. Will there be Chinese specialists, maps, or at least some weapons and vehicles? I think that will help the plausibility of the plot and immersion a lot by the addition of some Chinese and European elements.

@Gomilend I doubt they'll even mention china. Back in Battlefield 4, they made the Chinese the bad guys in the campagin and they got very mad. And i think Europe is probably either part of the US and Russia faction or will come in a dlc

Maybe China has ascended past "Superpower" into the world's sole "Ultrapower" and they are not threatened by either the U.S or Russia so they don't waste time fighting in the war of 2042 and are preparing the groundwork for the Pan Asian Coalition.

@Gomilend China is not included so the game might be sold there. Political correctness aka Father Winter skin. No maps situated nearby China... why... the answer is simple... monieeez. Only Russia is left to be bashed.

They cannot implement China otherwise they were not allowed to sell their game there any more. Because China does not want to be represented in game where you can play as another superpower against them and even win a battle. I think Battlefield 4 was even banned at some point in China, if I am right.

@Gomilend I wouldn't call it bizarre. It's just a game and a fictional alternate universe. They can make up whatever they want, which is clearly when Battlefield is at it's best. They are adding maps post launch too.

Personally, I could care less where the map is located as long as it's a well designed map. Map design imo hasn't been very good since BF4.

@ArchAngeL-PCX I see your point. Though I'd like to see maps mostly in real-world flashpoints, like Belarus, Korea etc etc. It brings a level of immersion that's quite nice.
But yeah, BF4 maps are awesome. I hope we get at least as many maps in 2042 as BF4. BF5 had pitiably little content...

I agree that it seems bizarre, which by the same reasoning I think it leaves that open for future content / seasons / whatever.

Maybe there are no "countries" this time around... maybe just factions of military that fight each other for power or whatever...

Look take parts all over the world and difficult to dissociate factions in the action. We will have more info soon, so i waiting!
