Why doesn't Liz's rocket count as "shoulder launched"?

She literally launches it from her shoulder and then has to stand there as a sitting duck controlling it (yay for cover).

I'm genuinely asking...where does she launch the rocket from? Sure, she controls it afterward, but it comes from somewhere...right?

Pretty miffed I just managed to get enough assists to complete the weekly in a match (specifically going for it, so playing like trash and not fun) but the game apparently thinks she launches it from somewhere other than her shoulder.

  • I'm pretty sure it does - could just be a case of the UI not updating? The Boomtatsic playlist in Portal was perfect for most of those weeklies

  • it counts a shoulder launcher but unfortunately not every vehicle assists counting into the mission.

It is easier to directly target enemy players instead of vehicles.

  • Then the mission details should be clear.  I shot down choppers with the AA missile and that didn't count either.

I finally completed it, but this was the worst challenge yet. To me there are three weapons that meet the criteria, but only one of them seemed to actually work.

  • @TTZ_Dipsy Well...I stopped after playing a round where I got at least 12+ assists on aircraft using her launcher but my weekly mission did no progress at all, nor did the UI update with missed progress in the rounds after.

I gave up and went back to the M5/Stinger (lord they suck) to slowly work on the mission over the next few weeks.

@edgecrusherO0 It is a bit complicated.
So technically when you assist in destroying a armored vehicle, you get vehicle destruction assist points for kills that happen because of the vehicle destruction. But since you didn't damage the passengers, you don't get kill assist points for the passengers, and that is why it doesn't count towards the mission.

But when her rocket hurts the passengers in a LATV, and then the LATV gets blown up, you get kill assist points, which do count.

I'm not so sure about that one. If you get a hit on a full tank for instance and then the tank dies, you get assist credit for all 4 I believe. I could be wrong but memory tells me I'm right 🙂. It's somewhat flawed...
