Just a conclusion from my side. There are people who like the game and people who don't. But the game isn't getting better nor can you ignore all the facts:
- Promise for "more destruction than ever", yet the destruction is back to BF3 / BF4 level, but without levolution. The tornado is annoying and does absolutely nothing, also because it is random. In BF4 the levolution was a chance to change the map for the losing team. Not happy with the enemy team camping on the skyscraper in Shanghai? Destroy it!
- Silly Setting, dont get this wrong, the "base lore" is great. With all that climate change, nations falling apart and a war for the ressources, fought by veterans / militarys / contractors from all over the world. Instead of a "build your own soldier" with a lot of customization, we got annoying and super lame specialists. But they are not only annoying, they also screwed all the balance we previously had (and i would say, it is impossible to even balance this game without a class system). But it is even worse, because they are fighting on both sides. So instead of skins / specialists for each sides they are all the same. Don't even get me started about the clown skins, they tried to bring in again. The message spready by these "specialits" is also terrible. They are suggest a "war is fun, climate change is fun, lets kill some humans" attitude and that is totally wrong in a game like Battlefield. It is okay in a fantasy shooter, but not in a halfway serious shooter. So Dice should just stop with that "What a time to be alive"-crap and use the potential of their great setting.
- Bugs, bad ui and performance issues. There ist sill a ADS bug in a game. How great is it, that you can't ADS in a FPS?. Sound design is even worse than in BFV. Performance / optimization is pretty bad. There are people with high end hardware, who are not able to play this game with more than 100 fps? Yet this game looks worse than BFV.
- Missing "legacy" features. Nothing more to say about the lack of a scoreboard, not being able to climb to higher positions, lack of a server-browser, that awful party-system (from BF1) we got again, instead of a normal squad-system. List goes on, but i will cut it here, because those are the most important features in my opinion.
- Map design is also terrible. Most of the maps are just empty and lifeless. There is a war going on and everything seems to be fine. Cars parked perfect in line, like people are just normaly working there. You should actually be able to see the climate crisis, war, poverty and all that results from that.
This game is overall a failure and i bet EA/Dice knows this. It is dying, there new super amazing core mode "Hazard Zone" is just boring and noone asked for that, especially behind a paywall. You can clearly see the direction in the steam statistics. That community is big enough to apply the gained knowledge / the trend to the entire community. You can also watch the YouTube or Twitch numbers (terrible, compared to the rivals).
If you still like the game, fine. As said in my second sentence, there are people who like the game and that is fine. I am still playing it myself, because somehow i want to be loyal to this franchise, because i "love" it. But i said the same about Fifa, before i stopped buying it. The same happened to SimCity, another amazing franchise, that was killed by lazy game designers / devs. So, please if you like the game, it is totally fine. But don't close your eyes and say "everything is fine, i like it", because it doesn't change anything about the problems of this game.
