First it's get rid rid of premium, I don't want to pay for extra content, now it's get rid of the purchase price of the game the game should be free.... What is this current obsession with free-to-play. Do people not know how economics works! Most so-called 'free to play games are misnomer imo... Are just not that, the microtransactions cost far more than any base price! I really don't want Battlefield becoming World of Tanks or War thunder with insane grinds and stupidly expensive DLC...

But you've chosen the worst examples... what about PoE, Apex. LoL, and all the other F2P games that are very successful? So all the non pay2win games.
The BR from BFV could have cleaned up the market if it had been F2P and if they hadn't pulled the team behind the BR after release.
I've been playing almost only F2P games for the last few years, because the teams behind them are interested in making their game interesting in the long run. Games like BF, come out, are sold over 1 year, then the support is discontinued and the game is dead.
PoE as an example, came out around BF3, is still relevant today, gets a free expansion every 3 months for years. And BF? That had to buy 6x new in the time, and has 6x a bug disaster and missing content until the end. So what is more expensive? A F2P in which you senselessly pump money because it's fun?
- Hori-Si-Tsun4 years agoSeasoned Traveler@JediMastaWyn well as it is now, u get to play tripple A premium price + a premium "battlepass" and all u get is to wait another 12 months for the game to have content. Most content is 100% copypasted, do the same thing, looks the same. F-ing hell game been out a week and in my limited sparetime ive already unlocked everything and got boored of the maps, never experienced anything like it. If this game was free i wouldnt be mad, but atleast id get what i didnt pay for
Do you have ANY idea what this game cost to produce???
Clearly not.
This is not a free-to-play title. It's a AAA I.P. (and I'll admit I say that with reservations given the performance of the day 1 release product).
If you want a "quality" game, you gotta pay the bucks.
If you think games like Apex and Fortnight are really FTP then you should spend some time researching the economics of these games.
They are not free.
Kap.
- Hori-Si-Tsun4 years agoSeasoned Traveler@Kaptyn027 cost of production dosnt justify price, quality and demand does, the demand is high cause of history, and that is also the reason people feel ripped, not gettin whats expected, quality.

A BF game? Not much...
You take the Frostbyte engine and the BF construction kit that goes with it. Then you click everything together what you want to have, a few new skins, 3D models, and a handful of much too fast and lovelessly cobbled together maps, and ready is the BF game.
You don't think it happens like that? Why are then in every game mechanic, in every BF always exactly the same bugs? In every Frostbyte Engine BF we always have exactly the same bugs in the same game mechanics. That's because the mechanics are so buggy in the kit. At DICE they don't even bother to fix the already 6x fixed bugs before release. You can not revive because the dead touches any object? The mechanics are so broken in the BF construction kit since BC2, and what exactly so in every BF after. Also the bug with the timer that you no longer come into the round. Also the bug that you have no weapon after reviving is rare... but so in the kit.
Coincidence? Ok, next bug, AA Stinger Bug. You aim at a helicopter, it ignites its flairs, and you can just shoot the stinger afterwards without it having to switch on, and it hits. Also the bug exists since there are stingers in BF. Almost every bug in the big 2042 bug list existed in every other BF!
AAA is only the advertising budget at DICE. They give a few hundred thousand dollars to each of the best-known streamers, who are then obviously bored and play the game. And only as long as they have to according to the contract. Or does anyone really believe that a Shroute would play BF2042 if he didn't get a bunch of money for it? That means AAA today, for quality that has not stood for a very long time. However, there was already a F2P BF, and it was cruel "Battlefield Play4Free" because DICE * it up again, and extremely. Nobody talks about this game, but this was really by far the absolute low point for DICE and BF.
