Unfortunately I think Dice will continue to ignore this. We used to have console wars PS against Xbox. Now we are virtually united in this question and I personally would love to be able to play PS5 against Xbox series and vice versa.
If I remember correctly didn't most everyone want cross-play a few years ago where consoles and PC could play together? Now that we have it no one wants it. Geesh I wish people would make up their minds!
- 3 years ago@CantGetRight I don't think you remember correctly. I have followed these forums since Bf3 and I can't remember anybody on console wanting to play against PC

@CantGetRightthat never happened. Console players wanted the option to play with PC but play together by default. That's always been the case. Unfortunately it's usually an either/or situation and you're either stuck with PC and fellow consoles or just with your own console.

We wanted console crossplay.Thread derail in 5, 4, 3, ...
You used the "competitive" word.

I've been asking for console-only crossplay from day 1. How is it that someone at DICE thought that this was a good idea? Even if aim assist works on console (half of the time, it doesn't - not even after their 'fix' yesterday), M & K is superior to a controller.

We wanted console crossplay.Wait. Now Battlefield is a competitive shooter? I always see in other topics where people are complaining about teammates not playing the objectives or playing to win. The response is usually this. "Battlefield is a sandbox shooter. It is not competitive. I can play however I want."
It seems unrealistic to me that in a "sandbox shooter" where so many on the servers seem to not care if their team wins. That they would see crossplay across all three platforms a big issue for that reason.
The average Battlefield player does not even care enough to give and follow a squad orders, or probably doesn't understand why doing so strengthens their team. So are the stat chasers the only people that are so bothered by crossplay with PC?

- 3 years ago@Foffe75 Exactly. Having more choices is pretty much always a good thing. Having those choices forced on you? That isn't.

Console players should play with console players. And dont split Xbox and PS5.
Are you a console player but wants to play with PC friends? You should be able to join them and you should play with a controller or m&k but without any aim assist.
I'm opposing the idea that console players should get mnk support and that's the solution. Okay, for BF2042 it can be a solution but for the future the console experience should stay and should be strenghtened by assuring console only (PS+Xbox) crossplay.
I play Xbox One version and you guys at DICE cant deny that this version is much easier with a controller. Below I give you all of advantages of PC I can notice:
- mouse click is faster than trigger press and also much shallow so firing semi automatic weapons is better
- framerate
- better aiming with mouse
- more buttons so for example quicker escaping vehicles
- quicker rotation with mouse
- on basic controller you take one thumb from the aiming stick to jump, change weapon etc.
I'm not going to buy next BF if Playstation and Xbox cant play together without PC.

I don't think we'll get completely separated crossplay options to have like either full crossplay or console crossplay only.
Even tho the team has said something that they are looking into trying to make console players match more often with other console players in the future.
So maybe a higher rate of console players in a server and less PC mixed in.
But no idea when we will see something about this.

I feel like people wanted it on more adventure games not competitive. At least that’s how I felt about it even though personally I wasn’t advocating for it.
