@DominickB3 Because some people play for fun, not progression?
- DominickB34 years agoSeasoned Ace@mesterKG I can understand that to an extent, but the fact that you can't unlock attachments, or anything like that for the 2042 weapons really hurts the ability to have fun with it. Then you add in that the player base is tiny, because of the lack of progression and you have even less of a chance of having fun.
I agree that video games are designed to be fun, but for many of us progressing and unlocking things is part of the fun.- 4 years ago@DominickB3 Yeah, different players, different motivations. I grinded the tides of war in bfv until the end and found pleasure from it.
But I see portal as a playground while the all out war modes are ‘the real thing’ and so think it is totally fine to limit progression gained from a playground. Weapon progression should not be limited though. It should be fairly quick and easy so you don’t play too long at an disadvantage.

There are those of us not looking to exploit the game with the purpose of farming weapon unlocks to then use in AOW against other players but to simply use in our own Portal Experiences, etc.
Back to my point about placing protections in place like the XP cap. Why can't they just do that with Mastery, etc.? Limit kills per minute to a reasonable level for example. Only so many would count toward a Mastery unlock for that weapon and so on. Again, it would be way better than not having the ability at all to level up Mastery unlocks which is where we are at currently.
