@VBALL_MVPMy only issue is, why does it matter if people waste their time doing that? It doesn't make them any better, the challenges in this game are not difficult just time consuming. Does anyone at this point really brag about their rank or mastery as a way to feel better in this game? They have lost so many players, they may as well open everything back up. It might increase the player base again even if it leads to farming.
So if it doesn't matter so much about progressing, why you complaining about it?
Here is why it matters: since progression unlocks guns, people can have all the top guns and attachments ahead of everyone else. We saw that with people melting the competition using better unlocked guns on day 2 when others are still trying to grind it out. What a great way to keep the player base.
- DominickB34 years agoSeasoned Ace@VBALL_MVP What player base? The game has already lost like 70 percent of it. Besides it's not that hard to unlock attachments. And it's more of a balance issue in the game if the higher unlock guns are much better than the initial guns.
I am complaining because I paid for the game the same as everyone else. Why should my progression be limited in the official AoW mode just because some people decided to farm?- 4 years ago

Lost 70% of the player base? Based on what facts? Steam? Just remember Steam only represents a portion of the player base, unless you have the console numbers (that no one else has) that number is just made up.
There are other ways to level up, allowing people to farm and boost just leads to other complaints of unfairness do to exploits or people complaining they maxed out already and there is no more content. So what do you say to those? Too bad for them? If so basically you are saying "what matters is what is only good for me".
There are other ways to progress, if you choose to do them.

@VBALL_MVPAs of right now, the only way to progress in this game is to play the official AoW multiplayer or featured portal playlists.
You can't play solo/co-op and get full progression even in the official game mode. You can't progress weapons or vehicles or operators at all in custom portal mode including the one posted by the official battlefield twitter.
I just don't understand why you are so against people getting xp just for playing the game. Yeah they shouldn't allow xp farming, so come up with restrictions based on things like AI Difficulty and health modifiers. It's things the community has suggested from day 1 that they just ignore and instead handcuff and destroy a whole game mode because of it.We can safely assume the player drop on steam lines up with the player drop across all platforms. The player numbers are much higher than just the steam numbers, but the percentages most likely are the same.

I have had all attachments unlocked for all weapons for a long time, so I really have no reason to play AOW over Portal anymore unless I just feel like playing AOW. (I was still playing portal regularly before unlocking it all to)
As someone else said already, some people just play to have fun and doesn't care about grinding for exp or unlocks.- WelshWilks4 years agoNew Scout
EA and Dice need to shout about Portal mode louder. There are many people whining about having the Battlefield they want but it's right there in Portal. I'm sure most people complain without switching the game on. The mode is clearly visible from the main menu.
