Wildcats can now lock onto jets > 800 m, which is silly (update 3.2)
Thanks to the incompetence of the vehicle developers, wildcats can now lock onto jets from across the map (> 800 m).
- Video 1: using a wildcat, I successfully locked onto a jet that was about 750 m away from me (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V--G9xzosjc)
- Video 2: jet getting locked on by wildcat NEAR THE FLIGHT CEILING, ABOVE THE CLOUDS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRzDkme9CXs)
- Video 3: jet getting locked on by wildcat at ~900-m altitude (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1on8oVGizaU)
- Video 4: jet getting locked on by a wildcat AT THE FLIGHT CEILING, ie at ~1100-m altitude (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf3WIxX_GRc)
The previous 600-m lockon range of wildcats was already far too disruptive to jet gameplay, especially on the smaller maps; a decent wildcat player can now considerably reduce the effectiveness of jets against all vehicle types, WITHOUT EVEN HAVING TO USE THE DUAL 30-mm CANNONS. A wildcat is now capable of destroying a jet that is about 800 m away just by locking onto the jet if the jet has ran out of flares.
+ If the devs have not realised yet, this massive buff to the wildcat's AA missile range will severely impede the performance of jets against other vehicles (especially choppers). But maybe they want jet pilots to camp at the flight ceiling now?
