Will Future BattleField Games include RAIDS?

MW is adding a RAID in 2023.

Destiny 1 & 2 has proven RAIDS are a very popular addition to team worked based games, and are a great mode for LFG systems which enhance friends lists and extend gamer engagement.

EA/Dice needs to get creative in future BattleField game modes as Breakthough and Conquest are limited versus what is going to be available via other game types in 2023/2024.

Dice needs creative new game modes beyond the previous attempts such as BF 2142 Titan Mode, etc...

Your thoughts?

  • @DeepSixxxx God I hope not; Battlefield isn't an MMO and shouldn't try to emulate one - especially when it can't even emulate a proper Battlefield title over the past 6 years.

  • I haven't played those to know what they are, I just want to caution advising EA to get creative on anything regarding the BF franchise.

That's why it's the current mess.

    Lets not.

  • I would rather have the BF franchise restore some of the past functionality rather than add a new game mode.

Truthfully can't tell if being sarcastic or not.

You've seen how brainless the bots are in PvE.

  • @DeepSixxxx  i'd prefer they don't borrow from COD.  it won't end well.  besides, they won't even give us squad management tools. i can't reliably leave a squad if i want to. it works every now and then but it's super rare and even then i can't lock my own squad to where i don't get some mouthbreather spawning on me and giving away position of spawn beacon or me. think this but instead of playing "sniper" picture someone using soflam

  • @DeepSixxxx if i want to play a PvE shooter i will go play a PvE shooter....
so instead of adding new "modes" lets take a look at most "new-modes" DICE has added these past games....
    1. Hazard Zone was basically dead on arrival as it was poorly designed and offered no aditional value
    2. Firestorm i personally played one round and after that never touched the gamemode ever again and had no desire....
    3. Frontlines was fun i enjoyed it in BF1 as it was well presented and fit the game in BFV i played 2 rounds and just felt let down as it was just a worse version of what BF1 offered
    4. Breaktrough is a shadow of what Operations were in BF1 and i enjoyed Operations a whole lot more... can't really say why but that how i feel about it
so these are just 4 modes and they all are rather letting me down and many others as well....
so instead of forcing innovation which is part of why we are stuck with games in the midst of an identity-crysis can we first polish off all the muck tainting the product?

What makes Battlefield Battlefield is the fact it's a large scale PvP sandbox shooter.

The AI needed to be a convincing/interesting opponent in a sandbox shooter is likely much much harder to pull off than other games.

Though there is the new Ridgeline studios in Seattle taking over the 'storytelling' side of the Battlefield.  They probably have the license to step away from some of the traditional Battlefield formula to create something better suited to a PvE experience.

If we ever see a Raid type event I'd expect to see Ridgeline's name on the box, not DICE.

Yeah I see the point, not enough trust in Dice at the moment get more creative with game modes without having creating a "Hazzard" mode...😃

And I agree the special needs A.I. would not work well with a complex RAID, and MW might not be as successful with RAIDS as Destiny has been...TBD...

Yet who wouldn't like BF more if players could call in a tactical nuke strike after 30 kills without dying...am I right?  🤨🤔

OK, maybe BF should not copy MW but the nukes are a creative idea and very difficult to set off, as you have to find the three elements first and then build the damn thing while being shot as every player gunning for you as they know they will lose if you set it off.

It would be cool if some type of in-game super rare achievement was possible, either one that helps you win the battle or one that rewards skilled players with cool skins, emblems, etc.  Other than being on top of a janky leaderboard after a round, BF does not push players to achieve anything rare and super challenging.

It just feels like BF could have more skill challenges and be less about "X hours played= X Level"...

  • @DeepSixxxx the thing is competetive players play for self improvement...
if you are improving your gameplay round by round week by week isn't that already enough drive to play? at least if the software was working as intended?
