Very curious to know if anyone has an idea if Hardcore mode will make its way into Battlefield 2042. Battlefield V had it come in a very late update. I am hoping it comes right off the start of 2042. I still play BF4 to this day and the Hardcore community is still very strong.

True, I found one EU host that also hosted HC BFV servers. Same settings as HC in previous BF titles but with 2042 specialists. There were different janky HC servers where you died from 1 hit to the leg with a pistol.
I had the 10 hour trail and ended up hosting 116 player, BF3 classes, Conquest, All Portal and 2042 Maps. It was a huge success both times, full for 10 hours and active for more than 12. The best HC setting is when HP Soldier Multiper is set to 0.6, 60% as in previous titles. Wish there were options to disable crosshairs as well without disabling the entire hud.
Feedback was great. The biggest disaster was that you had to reconnect every 2-4 death due to begin stuck in downed/crawling state.
May buy 2042 when it actually is playable again and the guns fire where you aim them.
So yeah, HC Preset should be a thing, but until then, 0.6 Soldier Health, Friendly Fire On and Minimap Off until we get more options.
No one forces you to play it.
How are those Portal servers working out for you?

I agree that bots shouldn't give XP or not at all but if you're playing against others human players you must earn XP and progress your challenges as in AOW!
I don't understand the current state that you're not able to progress in Portal. It's totally part of the game, I even bought it especially for Portal, not for AOW, so I should be free to progress here aswell.

I come from the BF3/BF4 era. There was a hardcore mode. It was just one hardcore mode. If you jump into a hardcore mode, you always get the same hardcore experience.
Now you have Hardcoremode, HardCoreMode, hard core Mode, HaRdCoRe Mode, HARDCORE MODE and h4rd c0re mod3. It's too many hard core modes.
I just want to play hardcore mode. It was simple. Now it's complex. Why?
