@bodyguardOfJesus It seems to me like you see some things and then absolutely know what is going to happen, because you know what youre talking about.
First, I did not play EFT.
Second: I have seen quite a few hours of gameplay.
3rd I have never played any CoD game either.
From what Ive seen, EFT is at the peak on realistic engagements when it comes to weaponry, armor, parts getting hit compared to just 100 HP. overall bullet sponging. Ive seen quite a lot of 1-shots, then lots of ineffective shooting vs body armor. So, from my perspective it does look great. What prevents me from trying is its forced online with temporary offline. I guess they are afraid of Jack Sparrows across the world. I dont like to be forced to go anywhere online just because it makes things easier for them. Those who dont find that to be a problem, might find a good time.
What Ive seen at play is your investment into a character which then can be one-shot and you lose everything you built up. Sort of like I remember palying old CS, you get money and then a loss that is felt across multiple rounds. No bf game has such a mechanic afaik.
I like that they are doing weaponry that is as good as todays simulation allows, it is still and will remain a game. This mechanics that you invest in your character and keep alive is completely against the spirit of newer games that are about running to the meatgrinder over and over with no thought.
I would say that EFT is not looking for the same kind of people as does BF as of 2010+. That one is a hardcore pretty much simulation of infantry combat with little in the gamey arcade. Id say that Im a fan of EFT, but I dont really plan on buying or playing it. I like the concept though. They will have some vehicles in the light armor department like 14,5mm KPV or 2A42 30 mm guns but I guess tanks are not anywhere anytime soon.
I like how guns are depicted there, it does look awesome. But it seems like too much effort and you having to invest into a character then to lose it might be addictive, but painful. In newer bf you run and gun and get down all the time for the most part if infantry. Not very fun imo.
Dont get me wrong, graphics have their place, but when you have fundamentals wrong or even missing, you can have your game named The Best Ever and utterly fail. BF has a known trademark, but its insides are completely different compared to old titles.
