- @WedgeTornado no, BR is trash

Nope, sorry not for me either.👎 @WedgeTornado No I loathe the genre and play Battlefield for the Battlefield experience. If I wanted to play extraction or BR I'd play one of the myriad of games on the market that does it better than Battlefield has or will.

There is a reason, I play Battlefield and not CoD. From the games I played with a BR, I didn't had that much fun, so I kept playing BF5 and 2042.
Extraction Shooter, maybe, if it is done good. I don't want this hardcore experience like in Hunt or Tarkov, but the concept behind it seems appealing to me. A Shooter with progress mechanic like a MMO (and maybe the scale) sound great in my mind. But the balance between P2W and progressing through game would be a critical point what could break the concept.
Still, I am not against spin offs, if it is a good game, with a good gameplay mechanic (except BR... I don't like these games) I am open for it.

I’ve played a couple of these types of game, I’m too cooperative play minded so it’s not something I really enjoy. I wish I did, because I think the mechanic is kind of fun. But yah, it’s not for me.
that said, if a game existed within the Battlefield universe. I wouldn’t object. As long as they don’t release it titled Battlefield 7 and say it’s a “love letter to the battlefield community” 😉
I can see the appeal of broadening the Battlefield brand, but they are going to have to add clarity and draw clear lines between the sun-game types so it’s clear to everyone what they are buying.battlefield brand covering different genres essentially requires a mind shift for there audience and marketing.
* arcade-combined-arms genre,
* mil-sim
* battle royal
* takeover clone
Are all quite different experiences, and I’d be curious to see how you’d wrap these under the “battlefield” title. I.e where would the continuity be that connects them?
Battlefield has 20+ years of meaning and value behind it. Diluting the term to mean something other than arcade combined arms game, , that’s perhaps a crazy thing to do.
