@Player55Yes. Crossplay is a developing feature within this game across next gen consoles and PC platforms:
https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/news/battlefield-briefing-answering-your-reveal-questionsCROSS-PLAY IN BATTLEFIELD 2042 BEYOND THE TECHNICAL PLAYTEST
We are still building cross-play functionality, and the first opportunity for us to test it with a wider, invite-only group will be within the Technical Playtest. Right now, we’d like to give you an understanding of what we’re looking to achieve as final functionality beyond the Technical Playtest, so here is an overview of what you can expect that to look like:
- PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®5 consoles
- PC and console can opt-out from playing together
- Xbox One and PlayStation®4 systems
- PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®5 consoles
@carsono311 Yeah I know about crossplay but I meant that if it's possible to play the series x version on the xbox one with cloud gaming on xbox such as playing the Microsoft flight simulator on Xbox One, which is only available on Series X and S. If you don't know the answer, that's fine!
- carsono3114 years agoSeasoned Ace@Player55 That is a great question that I do not know the answer to. I suspect the answer is no, but do not know for sure.
@Player55 That's a good question but I think its to soon for that service on the old Ones and I don't think so myself, Though since MS has marketing for it, it might be a bonus they say closer to launch.
But playing MP games via streaming wouldn't be the best way even the slightest input lag would be awful in gun fights imo.
You can test this on your home network with any game to see, I play Warzone streaming it to my phone for example just to mess around and get a few teirs while watching TV.
- TheGM864 years agoRising Scout@carsono311 Jebus. PC Players are gonna wreck console players and Playstation Players are just gonna get stomped by everybody.
- carsono3114 years agoSeasoned Ace@TheGM86 I do understand the concern, but I would not be so sure. Aim assist is certainly a helpful feature.
@carsono311 "helpful feature" kinda like breathing is a helpful feature lol. Pads need aim assist to be useful at FPS games they are an awful control scheme. Nothing comes close to KB/M for control and precision at the same time, BF plays different on PC to console see JackFrags for that. This will either have almost aimbot for console users or all the guns are going to have zero or next to it recoil to keep it competitive.

@1Hairy-GorillaI generally agree, however I have seen some very good console players that can compete just fine against any PC gamer. So I would not be so quick to dismiss console players...
Overall, I do support the third option for crossplay and hope it gets worked out as quickly as possible for console players. @carsono311 I'd settle for input matchmaking ie Pads vs pads, KBM vs KBM only. No cross inputs. Would solve alot of issues.
