Yall really didnt like BFV?
This is the biggest surprise I have gotten comming to these forums. Out side of crashes my only gripe with BFV at launch was the ammo/health crates not showing on the maps when they got dropped.
Yes the other complaint was that it was meant to be a ww2 game and coming from bf1 which was pretty good at trying to be a ww1 game, bf5 decided to do a woke take on ww2 and this set the tone for the game. If I remember the one armed woman character in the trailer as being a catalyst for this type of thinking.

The bionic arm woman trailer with the fortnite main characters killed BFV pre-orders along with Dice PR coming out with woke comments.
Then when the game came out, the shift towards a more hardcore style with less ammo, non regen health and no 3D spot with soldiers blending into the backgrounds killed the playercount.
It never recovered from that.
It`s not like I fell in love with BFV. But having into consideration the rough launch of 2042, I am more willing to admit that BFV has bigger potential in 2022, and I`m not even joking.
I really love the idea that a player's health cannot be fully restored before prior use of a personal med-pack, and this one item has to be replenished by the ammo bag or the flag. This one change for me is simply amazing and more tactical. What killed the game is pointless 8 damage at 25m proximity on some of the weapons that happen to be not a pistol or even SMG. BFV by no means is a hardcore game but requires hell a lot of ESL league players' skills to perfect it. The game received not enough content at launch also. I was not even criticizing the game back then, but I have finally enough seeing the next iteration that has both 2 and 4 in the title and happens to be "a modern" battlefield.
The bionic arm lady, steampunk atmosphere in supposedly WWII game with real factions simply killed the launch. Most of the people had Private`s Ryan moments in their mind, not some strange-looking lady with blue makeup saying "eLLou Ould FriEnd".
Everyone's Battlefield statement and promo - learn for once that 5-year-olds and 90-year-olds cannot be a prime target of the game labeled as WWII. Companies should always prioritize their target audience. By doing so, the company should release a separate game for younger audiences like BF: Heroes 2. Some titles like BF3/BC2/2/4/2142 for the 18+. The middle ground is going to kill the series as we know it completely and only anger the hardly earned community.
What kills the atmosphere of tension between factions in a game is the absolute dominance of political correctness, usually full of woke and progressive slogans usually praising "the good guys". I have no idea how to tackle this one problem efficiently without receiving "a heretic" or a "bigot" label on one side of the barricade. Real war stories with personal dramas and traumas, inability to choose in given circumstances might be one of the clues. The war is not only Zeroes and Ones, good or bad faction. What the majority of reasonable people would expect is a depiction of true struggle on both sides and a depiction of decisions that could potentially either save or kill in given circumstances. War is full of miscalculations and checking the other sides' bluffs also. It`s hard to depict a conflict in a mature way without trashing the other adversary forces at the same time.
I kind of like BFV but I would rather play modern 4 or polished and complete BF1. If Battlefield V launched 9-12 months later it would be one of the best Battlefields (not having in mind a marketing campaign).
I feel like too many games are rushed out of the door and destroy the franchise.
I wish I knew the comparison of content at release for BFV vs the other titles.
I felt like BFV had pretty good maps at launch, and a good amount of modes for each.
Super high standards for games these days...

That original trailer did upset slot of people I do remember that, its sad that people couldn't accept that.
Or the "mature" BF audience couldn't handle a little more mature/hard-core features.
And I never had big problem with people blending in but I have a good computer and am an above average player.
BFV could become an even greater game with additional 4 maps. Eastern Front expansion pack might also include new vehicles and weapons. Devs and publishers have to redefine their roles at this point. The main focus on Social Justice Warrior ideology in the shooter genre is as much desirable as Human Rights activists in an illegal weapons factory before lockdown. It is a shooter game, this does not include any form of correctness, except one - shooting. Having an unfinished and partially broken game that resonates with terrible gameplay decisions is a big no-no. That, in addition, pushes suitable at this moment of history agenda is a disastrous move. Players are here to stay for great gameplay, not further monetization gameplay-wise havoc. Rightful for the time being agenda usually turns into a Soviet-style propaganda machine.
Pushing for monetization while completely ignoring gameplay mechanics is harmful in the long run. Seriously, how profitable might be antagonizing the loyal player base by pointless money-driven changes? That`s one of many main reasons why the player base is rightfully angry. And will continue to be if the changes won`t turn into radical 180 degrees course.
I checked the comments, I did not even start bashing the franchise before the reviews hit hard.
Shortly put. EA should stop playing politics and improve finally gameplay experience as God Allmighty rightfully commanded. EA should stop pretending like it is being oppressed by the extremely dangerous keyboard warriors like me and SubReddit`s page while the game launch is not ahead of schedule or stable by any means. And there is literally no love letter except for one finger (You do know which one and where exactly) pointed at the majority of customers with Surprise Mechanic as the main drive for this hell of a ssshow. And right now publisher wants us to believe that DICE is solely the weak cog in the process. I mean how full of surprises someone has to be to ignore all of this.
