Same thing happened to me on Series X last night. While it still didn't stop me from being a force on the battlefield at both short and long range, it did result in some minor confusion when I toggled back for a soon to be long range headshot. Brought this up to others on the Battlefield community team this morning to flag down, thank you for posting this and keep up the good work fellow snipers.
So, for now, it's best to remove the bipod attachment to circumvent the issue or switch sights & back to restore it temporarily.

@EA_Blueberry The issue is caused mainly by using the bipod underbarrel attachment. Whenever you have that, switching to anything else and back to your sniper rifle, it'll bug out to a 1x zoom.

@freddy-lie
I also use Maria Falck. It's all adding up now.

I've also experienced this issue after using Mackay's grapple gun.

Yeah happens to me too with the first sniper and undervarrel stand. Switching for another scope and back fixes this but not optimal in a firefoght
