Anti-cheat error code 104 Not helpful for Disabled Players
I am unable to use a keyboard and mouse to play and I am unable to hold much less manipulate a controller so I have been using a joystick and mouse to play FPS games as well as others since around 1998.
I am 59 yrs old and am on VA disability and I am unable to curl or bend my fingers in a controlled manner or quickly thus why traditional Keyboard WASD is not an option.
I have really enjoyed the Battlefield franchise even with the issues it has had, it is still my favorite FPS game. I love the objective based aspect of it and playing with my friends.
Two days ago I tried to launch BF2042 to play with a friend of mine and found the game would not launch and have to 104 code.
EA anti-cheat software for Battlefield 2042 is now blocking the game while using JoytoKey Software.
JoyToKey allows you map a joystick axis or button press to a keystroke, move the joystick forward it sends a "w", pull back it sends an "s" pull the trigger it sends a space and I jump etc. very basic mapping.
I do not have any advantage over others while using this, in fact I am much more hampered and a keyboard used since I do not have control over fine movement (i.e. if i want to strafe just a tad I end up moving too far, oh is this a pain in the jumping puzzles in Destiny 2) oh and to try driving in a tank is just sad.
I am sure the issue is that the anti cheat software is just taking a shotgun approach and looking for any virtual controller without considering what software is running it.
Please tell me that there is a way for you to fix this so I can play BF with my friends again.
I am sure I am a minor set of your player base but as gamers get older and have to deal with injury and/or arthritis more and more may fall into this box of people that need to use non traditional methods of controlling their movement.. I mean FFS blizzard has made it so BLIND people can play Diablo 4, that blows my mind.
I am attaching images of my JoyToKey Mapping as well as the errors I get.
