Audio issues using Discord and 2042 after S6 update.

Update: Got new Scarlett drivers installed tonight, and no good. I have confirmed it is specifically an issue where Battlefield 2042 breaks my Gen 2 Scarlett's main audio output (as in using the device as a sound card and it's main outputs 1/2 for Windows).

I started the game after the Focusrite driver install, and all the game audio was garbled up again instantly right in the menu. Evidently the inputs on the Scarlett are not compromised by the game, as my friends can hear me, and I am able to hear anything coming into any of the device's inputs. I tested physically piping my Discord out the back of my PC motherboard output and into the Scarlett's rear inputs with a cable and I could hear my Discord friends fine. However, since the app itself uses Windows main (which is set to the Scareltt's main 1/2 as we know) for it's app sound FX, any notification sounds were garbled up just like the game.

I closed the game again, and unlike before, the issue did not return to normal. My Windows main audio output, which is set to my Scarlett was totally borked. I tested Youtube videos, notification sounds in Windows, and all were corrupted sounding just like the game audio was. I had to power cycle the Focusrite interface to get it back to normal again.

Clearly now I would say, 2042 has a new problem talking with Focusrite Scarletts, or at least the 2nd generation 18i8s... Dice please help! I cannot play the game in this state!

I just had a new thought... could the new EA Anti Cheat be interfering with my Focusrite Scarlett's drivers somehow? Could this be the issue, since it's a kernel level service?

I had some big problem also after the S6 update. I have a focusrite 3rd gen 8i6 with speaker that i have update few week ago with the new firmeware. Everything was working fine as always since more than 1 year with this computer.

After the s6 update the sound start to be "robotic" and very noisy in the game. When i return to windows it was still the same noise. I had to turn off the focusrite or change to 16 bit or 24 bit in windows to turn of this horrible sound.

I  update windows as there was some update, also update geforce experience with the the driver of yesterday. It was still the same.

So i decide to downgrade the audio driver of the focusrite even this noise is only happening when i run BF2042 and play.

After the focusrite downgrade i try to play and the horrible sound somehow disapear but the audio is cutting everytime for few second then come back then cut out again.

Everything was fine before the update of yesterday. I dont know if i prefer audio cut or crazy interferance sound.

I dont think it will help but that drive me crazy as i play everyday.

I have the same problem. The audio on my Scarlett 2i4 (2nd Gen) drops out for a couple of seconds randomly after a while (maybe 3-4 times during one conquest game). Never had this before, this is new and started with the S6 update.

I tried different sample rate and buffer size in the Scarlett settings, which brings the audio back or stops the crackling immediately, but after a while the audio drops out again. I have not found an optimal setting yet.

I have the same issue also. Using a scarlett audiocard (solo 3rd gen). It only happens when I'm playing battlefield. Does not happen in any other games. I have the latest drivers and nothing. The bug must be only occuring with focusrite cards. 

Same here, I have a Scarlett as well. My buddy was dealing with these issues as well, so clearly something got messed up. We were thinking it was driver related, since NVIDIA just dropped some new ones, but he experienced the same issue on both his old and new ones. I've also wondered if it's their new anti-cheat doing something on the backend...

I try again and it's still the same :

- old focusrite drivers (Focusrite Control - 3.11.0.1983) : sound cut and come back after like 20sec then cut again and come back without any action (only when playing BF2042)

- last focusrite drivers (focusrite_control_3.15.0) : when start BF2042 it happen really quick / crackling / interferance very noisy. Had to change buffer or unplug (its quite the same as when you change the buffer or rate it resync the interface). 

The fact is its better to work with the latest focusrite driver as we probably dont have a sound card to play but also for recording. It only occur since S6 update.

Please EA just plug a focusrite with any of this driver and check it cause it really end my joy of playing.

Thank you all for replying with your experiences, hopefully the more we make noise the quicker Dice and EA will find this issue for us. I'm seeing more new posts popping up here with the same issue, keep posting your experiences to all of them so we keep this issue at the forefront and somebody notices us.

Exactly the same issue on Scarlette 2i2.

It's a pretty popular card so it's strange this wasn't picked up in testing. 

I think I'll have to use the onboard audio for a while if they can't patch it soon.

Yeah onboard audio should work fine in the meantime... unfortunate for me as I am using a bunch of inputs and stuff through my Scarlett :/
