Banned and no explanation

Bought a “new” computer off of Facebook, everything appeared brand new other than gpu, m.2’s and the case, played BF2042 for a few days, then got an email saying I’ve been banned across all platforms. If a ban can’t overturned then whatever, I’d like my game back of course, but I need to know what caused the ban so I can find or change the hardware on the computer and check with the seller before I write a nice long post about whatever he sold me causing me to get banned. It was a fresh windows install, I had to name the computer, started downloading games and launchers, and started playing. I’ve since stopped playing any games on it at all, I’d be real mad if I lost Vanguard and R6 Siege and all the other games I bought due to something I have no clue about. Being able to email or call the ban team directly would be great, I just want to be able to game on my 1wk old computer and not lose $100 games to something that I haven’t done

any help would be appreciated.

  • I tried appealing the ban, explained what happened, and just got the generic “We got your note and did a full investigation of your account. After reviewing your case, we determined that we took the correct action in accordance with EA policies and procedures.

    What this means

    We have confirmed that your account was involved in cheating. Because of this, we will not remove the sanction on your account.” response and nothing more. Is there any way else I can contact them and talk about this?

    @lmdurtydan

    You're welcome to file another appeal and someone else from the ToS team will take another look.

    There are no live chat or phone callback options available for appeals as these are based on what information can be verified in our records, so you'll need to create a new appeal if you'd like this to be looked into any further.

  • Ok, I’ll do that. Are they able to provide specific information as to why I was banned? I’m not playing any other games on this rig until I can figure out what happened. Had been playing vanguard, R6 siege and fortnite up until I got that ban email, so far none of those accounts have been affected so I’m going to stay off everything until this is figured out.

    also thank you for the quick replies!

    Typically they wouldn't be able to provide any other specifics as far as particular programs or our detection methods go, sorry.

    That information can be particularly useful to those that try to get around our systems so while they'll review the account and records on our end, the info shared will be somewhat limited.
  • Would using the PlayStation Remote Play app or Xbox Console Companion app cause any ban-able issues while running the game?
