What system do you have + gpu? If you meet te minimum requirements you can follow the steps explained all throughout this post post.
First try this very simple thing, log out and re login the EA app, there is a small possibility this might work.
Also clear EA app cache, close the EA app completely, delete the contents of (Win+R) %ProgramData% \EA Desktop, (except the EADesktop.ini file, if you see it inthere, if you don't see it, delete everything. Restart EA app.
I suppose you already checked the integrity of the game files, still do it again. Make sure your graphic drivers are up to date.

Removing/ "changing" the plate won’t make your 750 Ti any stronger, it just holds the card in place. To run BF2042, you’d need a better GPU. Sorry my friend, you'll have somehow to figure out a way to get a hold of a better GPU. Don't you have a friend or family that have a spare GPU laying around cause they updated theirs? Where there's a will there's a way my friend, you'll figure it out. GG's

Your system doesn't support the game, whatever you try a i5 2500 is to old even if you would upgrade to a better gpu, it won't run, reality is you need to get yourself a more recent device.
